Qantas Upgrades - Successes or Failures (post results)

Ok brains trust.

My wife has a Classic Upgrade request from Y-W for a flight departing 11 days from now. Due to aquiring a boatload more QFpoints we want to change that to a Y-J request but can't find the option to cancel/change. Looked all over the app and manage booking.

In case it changes anything, I am the main on the booking.
Nevermind. We found it. If anyone in future sees this it's:

Log in the QFF site > My Bookings > Upgrade button against desired flight.

Mods: happy for you guys to delete these as well if off topic

I think by cancelling and creating new request you go to back of the line in terms of anyone equal to you in line based on status etc.
Did you tick the W option if J is unavailable?

That is my understanding of it as well yes, back of the line. It is for QF2 for 2 people of SG status so odds are slim regardless ahaha.

Yes we have ticked that option

We've seen bronze members get upgraded to J cabin in this thread, so you never know your luck in the QF Casino.

Counting down the days to my flight QF 1 SYD > LHR 10/07.
Status: Platinum
Upgrade requested Y > J including Y+
I put the upgrade in immediately after booking in August/24, praying to the upgrade gods. But looking at these loads I think I am about to have my first SYD > LHR Y flight. If I receive an upgrade to even Y+ I think I might buy a lotto ticket.

The loads as of today:
F0 A0 P0 J7 C0 D0 I0 U0 W9 R9 T0 Z0Y9 B9 H9 K9 M0 L0 V0 S0 N0 Q0 O0G0 X0 E0

Question I seemed to have overlooked until now, I requested SYD > LHR. This means I will only be considered for SYD > LHR and not SYD > SIN and SIN >LHR right?

From the looks of past comments, can I instead cancel my upgrade request and request for just SYD - SIN, SIN > LHR individually? At this late stage do the brains trust think that is a good idea?

My understanding is that they will only give you SYD-SIN if they can give you the 2nd leg to LHR as well, however if you are unsuccessful on the first leg to SIN you may still receive an at the gate upgrade from SIN-LHR.
