2 x fails as LTG - 13Jun QF37 MEL-SIN $$ bid (I know but I’m short on points) Y>J and QF1 SIN-LHR points Y>J or W. Small compensation - had an empty seat next to me on QF1 on an otherwise full flight…
Will see what the fairies bring on the return next week…

Due to fly out Wed 18/6 QF67 and hoping for upgrade to J. Booked and requested upgrade last September and WP status. Fingers and toes crossed. Screenshot minutes ago.

Follow up to the previous post. I got the upgrade overnight and now flying J on this leg. Now, my trip is:
OOL-SYD: Business
SYD-BLR: Business
BLR-DXB: First
DXB-CAI: First
CAI-DXB: First
DXB-NRT: First
NRT-BNE: Business
All on points, Classic Reward seats and Upgrades. A very happy chappy!

Is this a bid upgrade? You will have more luck if you put in a classic upgrade requests as these are processed first.

Yes, a bid upgrade. They won't allow me to purchase points since I've never flown with the company before.

Booked with American Airlines points, which is a One World member.

With various other upgrade paths taking priority, I'd say you have no chance.

A bulk wine purchase is actually a cracking idea I hadn't thought of!

Are you suggesting the Cape Baron for the additional 30k bonus points its currently offering, or the fact its a decent drop at good value, or both?

Im ideally trying to upgrade the whole journey: SYD->LHR.

(I'm only PC not PC+)

So, wine purchased and request submitted for both W and J via the Tassie line.
Now its a waiting game to see what happens.

Really appreciate everyones help and input on this.

Best case - I actually get to stretch out and sleep on my flight and hit the EU in a decent state to race (I'm heading over for a swimming race).
Worst case - at least I have wine to last me the rest of the year when I return!

Well, I only rang them this morning, and ive already got "unsuccessful" on both legs for QF1 on the 27/06.
I would have thought it was a little early to be processing them and a lot was done at the gate?

Looks like J is full already, but there are 8 seats in PE still.

Success - QF2 LHR-SIN Y>W at T-10 as LTG…and added bonus of nice bloke guested me into SIN FLounge…doesn’t look good for next leg

I made a tactical error on my last flight back on QF2. Many more seats LHR-SIN and often full SIN - SYD. You have to get an upgrade for the whole flight which means you miss out on the longer leg. Good to split flights like you did.

Thanks @Andy72 - On my LHR trips I have a very poor success rate on the MEL>SIN>MEL legs but not too bad on the SIN>LHR>SIN legs in spite of flying both the latter typically on Fridays. The 2 guys who guested me into the SIN FLounge after QF2 had both failed to get from W>J, in spite of being P1, so I was pretty happy to have got into W at least for 1 leg, and as you say, if you're only going to get 1 upgrade the long leg is the way to go...

Ok brains trust.

My wife has a Classic Upgrade request from Y-W for a flight departing 11 days from now. Due to aquiring a boatload more QFpoints we want to change that to a Y-J request but can't find the option to cancel/change. Looked all over the app and manage booking.

In case it changes anything, I am the main on the booking.
