All requests are P1 priority from my mum who is CLPO (about to lose both though)

18/4 QF45 MEL-DPS, 2 pax Flex Y to J no luck but expected as flight was packed on Good Friday. They blocked 4D for me, so we had all three seats which was more than comfortable enough.

26/4 QF38 SIN-Mel 2 pax Y to J no luck and plane was 100% full. Heaps of CL/WP/P1 in the first 6 rows of economy and nobody was upgraded. Staff in the lounge said it was the busiest night of the year and all 9 flights out of Singapore were at capacity.

3/5 QF767 MEL-PER 2 pax Classic reward Y to J confirmed upgrade T-30.

“Your upgrade request to Business on QFxx from xx_x on xx/xx was unsuccessful due to insufficient points balance.”

Rather annoyed as I absolutely do have enough points to make the request. I called them up to ask for help / clarification but don’t have much (any) hope.
 
Did you wait to get the e-ticket PDF email before putting the upgrade request in? If not, that can cause issues.

Also if you change your FF PIN AFTER making an upgrade request that can break it as well.

Unfotunately, when you get that message it's almost certainly too late for your flight this time as they most likely will have allocated an upgrade to someone else instead.

I don't think the QF website allows requests before ticketing now. When helping a family member recently, the upgrade button was greyed out until the ticket had been issued.

Was the upgrade request definitely made from your account and not someone else’s or a Qantas Business Rewards account?
