Re: Help us improve the Qantas Frequent Flyer website

Look like they are trying to cut costs ...

Dear Mr serfty,
We’d like to announce that, in November 2012, we’re switching to paperless statements. After this date your Frequent Flyer Activity Statement will be available online instead of being sent to you in the mail.*
There are many benefits to online statements. Your online statement contains all the information available on your printed statement and you can see your most up-to-date Status credits and points balance at any time. Of course, you’re never more than a few clicks away from learning how to earn more points, booking a flight or browsing the online Qantas Frequent Flyer Store. It’s much better for the environment too.
Don’t wait until November. Get a head start and switch to view your statements online today (instead of receiving them in the mail) by clicking below.*

Hi,

I checked the threads and couldn't find any mention of this, so here goes...

Yesterday I received my printed statement and I noticed for the first time since becoming LTG last year that my lifetime status credits have returned. Once I hit 14000 last year, the overall number disappeared, but it's now back, at 14,375. I also note that this lifetime level is not recorded online, only on the printed statement.

Forgive me if this is old news, but if it's not then the conspiracy theorist in me thinks that something might be planned to reward those with more than 14,000 lifetime status credits.

I only use the on line statements and as far as I can remember they have always shown the level of life time status credits.

Interestingly enough there was no news on this enhancement on the latest WP renewal pack I received yesterday.

I switched to printed statements, following serfty's advice in a thread on AFF, after reaching LTG last year specifically to see my Lifetime SC balance, and the number has been on every paper statement since doing so. (August 2011 to present.)

Hi Hvr,

Presuming you are still LTS, then that would be correct - it will show (and has always shown) status credits beyond LTS.

But once you hit LTG, they stop showing your total number of status credits online and also in the printed statement. That now seems to have changed...

You learn something new everyday. Hopefully it will not be too long until I have that issue re LTG life time SCs. :)

Thanks TonyHancock, I'll go back through my printed statements and check when the change occured for me post becoming LTG. But I can say categorically that in my case, the figure for lifetime status credits disappeared for a while on the printed statements after I became LTG.

I have always refused to go electronic as I needed a printed copy to sort out which flights were personal and which were business, back in the days when the public service hung the threat of prosecution over your head if you happened to use points accrued for work for pleasure. It's a handy document to have, even if I am killing trees....

Re: Loyalty Bonus changing from 1 July 2013

It was worth the effort Hvr. But then it opens a new world of pain - do you settle for guaranteed lounge access at Gold level or do you keep trying to maintain platinum? Which brings me full circle back to the intent of this thread....

I just went to my files and checked - I attained LTG in November 2008 and each of the subsequent 48 printed statements I have received has the (steadily increasing) lifetime SC's total printed.

What's might interest some are the varying bits of information re loyalty bonus/Qantas segments flown immediately below the LTSC line.

Looking back a little further, the LTSC tally began appearing with my Aug 2001 statement, prior to that the statements would only list the Tier Credit earn for the statement period.

Looks like I need to go back and change my statement option. QF recently took me off printed statements.

Where is the option to reinstate printed statements? I don't seem to be able to find it on the website.

In your profile, bottom of first page. I think it is only available for platinums.

I've considered doing it many times, I'm just not sure I need it right now... thoughts?

I'm not sure. I find the statements useful as a record of my flights and I don't have to print it them out for myself. Laziness I guess. Of course, it is always possible to pay the fee and get my whole history printed out. The disadvantage is having to find somewhere to keep the statements.

Re: Loyalty Bonus changing from 1 July 2013

I keep them in a folder. digital records can get lost and it is always nice to have a piece of paper that proves whatever you are saying to someone !

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

It affect those who could received statements - It may have been for PS and higher status - now only WP ... and they need to (re)opt in.

Re: Loyalty Bonus changing from 1 July 2013

QF should have an option to download/save statements on-line
