Qantas to put business and Economy fares on same page

Indeed.

I considered an option BNE-CNS for later in the year where Y- was $149/no classic seats left/19,000 points ASA, Y $too much and J $too much/24,000 classic/75,000 ASA. All without having to re-do the search I know my options are either Y-, Y ASA or J classic. Everything else was just too much. Of course, what I'm actually doing is waiting for a sale for my dates now :p

Surely J Classic is the way to go.... who flies whY ;).

Really wanted this a few hours ago for an international flight, business one way and economy the other. Ended up having to book two flights, with fares more expensive than return, plus two credit card fee's. Grrr.
When I put in my dates (SYD - JNB) I get PE and J on the same screen. Great, but as soon as I select one class, it greys out the other so it cannot be booked in combination. I was hoping to do PE one way and J the other. Looks like it's not going to be possible
And it's way more expensive to book it as two one ways, not even considering that. Apart from seeing the information on the screen and being able to compare them, it doesn't allow anything new IMO. A but more user friendly but that's it.

Booking mixed classes like you wanted to do is hopefully the next logical step.

I guess you'll have to give them a call?
I flew on QF63 and 64 last year and I'd agree that it's quite sensible to go across to JNB in Y+ (the whole flight is in daylight) and fly back in J.

That's what I was aiming to do. Do they let you book mixed fares if you ring them? Have only done J + F on BA before so not sure what's the go here.

I have done SYD - JM+JNB in Y - never again if I can help it.

Had a travel agent book a mixed fare for me a while back but the price was the same as if I had book two one way tickets, one way economy, one way business.

QF does not permit fare combinations in W + J. You can only combine Y + W and J + F. No other combinations are permitted in the fare rules.

As annoying as that would be, I can understand. I could imagine people flying somewhere in J then returning in Y and then ranting on AFF why they weren't allowed 40kgs of luggage on the return trip and it's all Alan Joyce's fault...etc. :)
