Was doing some searching and found this on the qantas site - disappointing, it can be easier to save the pdf and search that way for some routes.

Whats annoying is as i try and search, it times out / errors repeatedly. If i just download the pdf, i can play to my heart's content, and repeated download not required.

I'm sure 99%+ of people don't use it hence why qantas are dropping it (presumably they have download stats and it costs money to maintain the pdf - updated every monday!)

Shame. Get in quick if you want to download the "last one"....

PDF Timetable

We're phasing out our PDF timetables
From the end of 2017 our PDF timetables will no longer be available. For the most up to date timetable information we recommend using our online timetables.

I used the pdf timetable to help find flights for my last trip, flights which didn't show up on the 'normal' online searches.

I also find pdf timetables very handy. Will be sad to see the day when they are all no longer available. Singapore Air still have them.

Looks like QF has recently "enhanced" the format of the online timetable:
https://www.qantas.com/au/en/qantas-experience/timetables.html

I used to be able to click on the individual flights displayed in the weekly timetable to see what aircraft type is operating on each day during that week. This has been replaced by a drop down which shows only the aircraft type for that day.

For example, QF 524 SYD-BNE will be operated by a B744 on 9 November:

But using the drop down on the weekly timetable, the aircraft type shown for QF 524 in the entire week around 9 November is B738 which is misleading UNLESS the search date is 9 November itself...

It would appear that its for that specific date.
I've managed to pull the raw JSON data from their API into Google sheets. There are two requests being used to display the results, so two separate URLs.
1. Displays all info except aircraft type (displays all flights for the day)
2. Displays some of the info plus aircraft type (only for a specific flight, so one entry)

There must be a way to combine this data, which would require digging a bit into their API I think.

OK, so after playing around a bit more, I'm not sure if its possible to display all of a particular flights data in one sheet, without knowing what all the endpoints of the API are, which is not public.

If you'd like to play around with what I've done, it's easy enough if you're comfortable with Google Sheets/Excel and creating a script (it's all copy/paste). It'll take about 5 minutes to set up. DM me and I'll send you instructions.

I suppose its handy for when you've already booked flights and want to check quickly if the aircraft type has changed.

You could even run multiple requests in the same sheet for any flight in their timetable.
