The descriptions on Reddit are getting better.

Just been in it..I'm afraid it is very substandard for a business class lounge.

So about the same standard as the old lounge. To be fair, it is a temp lounge.

Feels fresher than the old lounge, new furniture and some decent views to the apron (an SQ 777 admittedly blocking most of it when i arrived)


Sydney turned up the humidity today so i really needs a shower on arrival. Shower suites are small and functional with good water pressure. A/c is lacking though which the staff were acutely aware of working in that space.

One small buffet with the usual fare, barista coffee and another drinks station to the area on the left after entry.

Nothing amazing but for a temp space they haven't cheapened out either

Looks like it could get very crowded (though appreciate not everyone is being sent here) but really given the dire state of the J lounge going into this, this really doesn't look that bad especially if you can snag a spot by the windows.

Currently in the temp lounge and I have to say it's functional and feels a little cramped with the low ceiling.

Glad it was not super busy today so I managed to get a seat by the window and I have to say the view here is slightly better than the old lounge.



Took a few pictures but not going to post them since bussyboy has posted quite a few up thread already.

Overall it's not bad but you can't really compare it to the old lounge.

Only other comment is that the lounge feels quite warm and it's not a very hot day today.

Certainly looks better than the MEL dungeon with the window views and they've spent some $s in the fitout and what I think is mostly new furniture (maybe other the the brown/orange leather seats)

Yes. At least the space has windows and views. I think some of the furnitures are new (tables and chairs in the dining area) but others are from the old lounge.

Definitely QF F lounge. You can guest one person.

The EK lounge should be in play also. If your flight is departing from over there, then perhaps you could swing by for the buffet and self pour drinks on the way. But I personally would just stay in the QF F lounge.

Wines (including champagne) in the EK lounge are better than QF F these days in my opinion, so that's also a factor if that's important to you.

Did you enjoy those eggs?? Mine were the worst ever, tasted wrong and a bit watery. Bacon was great, and they were doing a Salmon Benedict and a smoothie - wandering the lounge with a cart:



One thing I did notice, was there didn't seem to be USB charging ports or AC sockets anywhere!!
Surely i just missed it but walking to get my flight i couldn't spot anyone carrying anything.

Good call on the low ceiling, that makes a difference but the seating is spaced reasonably so it didn't feel too crowded at any point while i was there. It did get noisy however, so hopefully some softer materials can be used strategically to abate the volume.

Isn't access being restricted due to the reduced capacity.

They might send me back to the FCL (oh horror). I like to have a drink or two before my 2:30 pm flight. and IME the FCL is quite puritanical with its pourings, and not to mention the attitude. I prefer the more Australian pub style of the Business lounge, TBH.

Yes, I'd do that in a heartbeat, as I do like the EK lounges, but unfortunately I think it will be well closed by the time I get to SYD.

I agree with the eggs as the texture and taste were quite off. Bacon was quite good and not greasy. Also tried the sausage it tasted fine.

Did not get the cart service as I think they were getting busy by the time arrive (around 9:00) and it did get noisy at the end.

The only charging places I can see are the power outlets of which there were not too many.

Not sure if you noticed but it looks like Qantas only renovated part of the space as it had - nicer fitout. The other section was very average with the fluorescent lights given that old RSL and 90s office vibe.
