Anyone else had trouble with the expedia website? All expedia websites (.com, .com.au, .ie, .com.br) seem have been down for the last 15 hours! Tried on Chrome and Safari (mobile).

no problems here

I was using the .com.br site about four hours ago using chrome without a problem

no problems here

It appears it's a problem with my ISP (Optus ADSL), as it works on my Optus iphone on 3g. No idea why it hasn't been working since yesterday - all other websites work and all expedia websites previously worked!

No problems with Optus cable, clear the cache & try firefox.

I made a booking for R$726 for Syd-Sin leaving 24th May and returning 26th. Just a short weekend away.

When I do those same dates as a test I get R838, did you do anything else to get it down to R726?

Can also see: SYD - SIN Thu. June 27 - Fri.July 3 for R838

I saw that fare, but realised that going to bangkok for R$1041 including a hotel for 4 nights + day costs would be heaps cheaper overall.

I did a dummy booking for a hotel to get the expedia fee waived but I will book a hotel myself sometime soon. Bangkok is just waaaaaaay cheaper than singapore in general

Are there any cheap deals from the gold coast or Brisbane to Singapore in mid Decemeber? I can't seem to locate anything under $1000AUD..Thanks

Unfortunately not because that is peak period! The latest you can leave to get the $410 airfares is 04/12/13 from what I can see.

That is cheaper than going to Perth for a weekend.

Basing the ticket exSIN, it has been true for a long time that a weekend in Singapore was less expensive than Sydney for Perth people. Probably more interesting too :shock:

Though if the current domestic sale fares continue I may have to change the first statement.

Happy wandering

Fred

Well I've just booked waiting for confirmation. Thanks to legroom we will have J lounge access at SYD but I'm dreading flying in Y.

I'm hoping to receive an email from Qantas saying that discount Y will be upgradable, I know this is rare but has happened to me once before in 2011.

I have 4 weekends locked in from September to December

Apart from the 2 x 7 hours in Y, an J domestic lounge visit an EK SIN lounge visit, a MEL or SYD F lounge visit and a QF SIN lounge visit along with a day or two in SIN are fine ways to spend a weekend, even if I don't leave the hotel and just laze by the pool

Apparently you can save a little bit more on the .br site with this trick :D

The site waives the booking fee (121 BRL) if you book with a hotel. Now, the cheapest hotel you can book on it is 63 BRL, so you save 58 BRL (~28 AUD). That brings the cheapest flight to 771 BRL or around 376 AUD :D

Just throw away the hotel voucher I guess :D

Edit: it may also be possible that the hotel part is cancelable after booking, but I've never tried it.

it would be funny if the hotel owners on Batam island are happy with the surge in room bookings..........

Just hope you choose the right hotel & accompanying pool in SIN.. :D
Have fun..
