Do you feel that disqualifies you from commenting on JQ?

I've never flown AF... so it would be unreasonable if I stated I would prefer not to fly them? (I wouldn't, and my personal reason is because I'm concerned about their safety culture)

Not being confrontational here... although I am also foreshadowing the response type.

Why? I have had heard more than enough first hand accounts.

Why? You stated you had never flown JQ - I was merely wondering how that affects your ability to comment on their airline. I don't feel like I need to know any more.

The .br route has never been a secret but is not well known in the UK, in my experience. That may be about to change as one of the top "deals" sites has just published a post on it:

My post count means I can't post links but Google "hotukdeals expedia br" or something similar and you'll find it.

I've read of at least one guy booking already. I hope it's not another step nearer this being closed off.

Yeh, saw it on the HUKD website the other day for the EK flights ex-DUB.

I have a current booking which I would like to get put in to a Qantas credit shell but each operator I speak with doesn't seem to understand what I am saying. It should definitely be possible based on the fare conditions for sale fares between Australia and Japan. And I have done it once before or maybe they just said that as I then went on to rebook another flight with them over the phone. Has anyone else managed to get this done?

Also if I manage to get it put in to a credit shell with Qantas under a PNR would I then be able to use this to book flights direct through Qantas or would I still have to go through Expedia Brazil? Issue is I want to change the flights and they can't see the ones I want to change them too (happy to do it at Qantas' current prices on their website) as they must have a restriction about being sold in Brazil, so if I could get the booking cancelled in to a credit shell I would be hoping to then book direct with Qantas.

I have been getting agents that seem to speak English okay but we sometimes struggle with the comprehension between each other. Also annoying the call centre is only open from 7:30am to 1:30pm Brazil time.

I was considering changing my flights booked on br to Singapore, which I left in the end. After much running around with expedia br, I ended up speaking to Qantas and advising there was no travel agent availability etc. I got a great rep from Qantas who was happy to change it for me for minimal cost ($150 change fee plus a modest extra charge of BR flight price difference (even though I couldn't see the fares on exp br)) - I would suggest maybe trying Qantas a few times to see if you can get a good rep who is a bit more flexible in making changes on your behalf. Good luck!

Useless statistic.

This thread was started by Finale on 01/03/2013 and the cheap airfares became restricted from ~28/02/2014. So just on a year but still a good run.

Interesting that it took that long for Qantas to close the loophole.

Perhaps they were intentionally self sabotaging... Far fetched?

Wow! That worked first time! Saying that I had spoken with expedia brazil and they couldn't see the flights I could see on Qantas.com. The great customer service guy was happy to look the flights up and make the change! Sooooo much easier than talking with expedia brazil.

I hope not. .br site puts people off/ turns them away.
I tried paying with credit card, more complications and disasters. The barriers are high indeed to 99% of pax.
Hard core stingy people, Type 'D' customers, the type who will fly budget airlines need to be 'converted'.
The FUD perceived risks, the fact currency conversion is not right, puts off the 90+% of those who dont chicken out when Portuguese displays. I just paid about $150 more to fly Emirates (1st time in 7 years I have flown a regular airline) and am in love with Emirates. (Beats MH, Thai and QF). Jetstar and AirAsia have just lost my business I think.

Those who tighten up first, will loose to .sg. My opinion if I was an Airline CEO is to leave it alone, and push email deals out of the rare bird who does use it - assuming they find something.
The advantage for Airlines is people get to 'sample' their product, who would normally fly with someone else.

- I only saw 'off slots' - low season, weekdays, redeyes here.

I'm sorry, it must be my English, but I cannot follow your post. Is there a flow? What is the point you are trying to make?

I'm only guessing, but possibly it's a grouse at Qantas for basically shutting down these fares.
