Has anyone noticed these fares on .br jump around any during a sale? At least I'm hoping it's 'around' and not just 'up'. Dates I searched on Monday for $496 are now coming back to me as $548. Still, obviously, a very good price, but am wondering if in anyone's experience it might go back down before the end of the sale period on Friday?

The fare I was looking at to BKK a few posts back is now back down to ~$730AUD.

If yield control add more seats to a cheap bucket it will change, same goes for when a fare bucket sells out.

When I bought my ticket through the site, it only allowed me to pay with Visa or Mastercard. I have an American Express platinum charge card, and according to the insurance policy, I am covered provided I can prove that the merchant did not accept Amex. Has anyone tried to prove this in the event of a claim? I was thinking of taking out seperate cover anyway, just curious if I would be covered by Amex.

I suggest you call Amex and ask what proof they would need that the merchant did not accept Amex.

Provide it.

Going forward, get their acceptance of the proof provided in writing/email before you depart.

Has anyone booked any Y+ fares through .br? They are $350 pp cheaper than direct with airline for the route I am looking at, so I'm very tempted to take a first plunge on this.

Yes, we got the recent QF deal for 2 in Premium classes, worked out just over $1000 each at the time. Leave next week :)

Thanks. I took a punt and it all came through on my credit card as expected with no surprise charges. The booking is in my QFF account and have selected seats. All good with $700+ saving :).

A data point for those who have schedule changes. Qantas cancelled MEL-DXB-LHR for my day of travel and rerouted me via Sydney. I got a number of generic emails in Portuguese, before a personalised one which asked for a reply. I was able to accept the scheulde changes via email in english (top and tailed by Portuguese greetings as a courtesy). This was though decolar, as xp.br couldn't bring up the times I wanted. Not sure if this would work for passenger initiated changes, but for schedule changes it was painless.

Did Decolar send you this personalised email close to your travel date or soon after Qantas made the schedule change?

No, well before my travel date (coming March), soon after the schedule change. Sent about three generic 'schedule change' emails before a personalised one. In any case, I try to keep an eye on my ticket on CheckMyTrip for such changes, so I was well aware.

Not sure what that has to do with HKG and PVG not being available on BR?

Absolutely nothing other than answering No hadnt made it work but letting others know about the price LHR-MEL. Sorry if that was confusing!

One may also ask what does HKG or PVG got to do with a thread on : Qantas SYD&MEL to SIN $510 ret ($410 through .br site)?

Looking back at the first post it looks like this thread is about to hit its first year anniversary.

I’ve been grateful for the opportunity to be able to go overseas more so than I would have thanks to this deal and I certainly hope it will hang around for many more years to come.

A few observations from checks today for MEL-SIN:

- EK flights seem to always now be cheaper than QF flights, often substantially;
- Cheapest flight is currently R1,131 (EK flights), or R1,047 with hotel
- Higher flight cost offset by better currency exchange (currently 0.46)
- All up cost ~ A$500, including 3% credit card fee
