Qantas social media fail

Not to mention whatever the hell "Australia.com" is. WTF?

Also fail by using the non-corporate font, or corporate choosing a font that isn't readily usable in common communications.

Doesn't seem real? Not sure why they'd use a photo that isn't one of their planes, and of course the "Australia.com" bit. Maybe if we could find the actual post but if it was real I doubt it would exist anymore.

I saw the original on social media and 1) i don't recall it saying Australia.com and 2) it looked like a Jetstar A320 winglet to me, not Tiger. Seemed legit to me.

Yes, Qantas did post a photo of a Tiger Air aircraft and the response by Tiger etc

This was doing the rounds on Social Media Yesterday, and certainly not generating positive publicity.
Not a good look to have a competitors plane in the photo ;)

It not longer exists, but it indeed occurred.

There are caches ...

Reportedly the original photographer mistagged it..
And someone on QF just reposted it, without looking at the winglets

Suspect a few more people will be trying to trick the QF team now

Interestingly the dhonstenzain account seems to have deleted the pic and isn't particularly prolific

Be fair all. QF just didn't have a spare plane to use ... they were all tied up in Dubai.

My Mrs, whose only knowledge about planes is that they fly (and I like them) picked up that it was not a QF plane in 2 seconds. Me almost wonders if the QF social media team has been primarily replaced by an algorithm which searches the web for photos of planes with tags which say #Qantas and will simply repost them. It would certainly explain some of their current posting failures.
