Qantas Silver benefits

Quick question, but when you reach silver, do you get 50% more Qantas frequent flyer points per flight, or do you also get 50% more status points when flying?

The website says:
"Earn Status Bonus points** with Qantas, Jetstar and American Airlines§§"

The explanation is a little unclear to me, in that it seems to imply you earn 50% more status points (i.e. Coast to Coast would be 30 status credits rather than 20 in discount economy)...

Hoping to get advice from people who have status.

Nope. You get bonus frequent flyer points but the same number of Status Credits.

They're referred to as "Status Bonus points" because your status entitles you to earn bonus points.

Ergh... well that just sucks doesn't it...

Time to re-do my calculations of when I'll hit GOLD lol

J Checkin with any OW carrier is probably the key benefit (besides some extra points and a couple QP invites).

When I hit LTS, knowing I never had to join the whY checkin Q was a little silent fist bump 😀

One thing to keep in mind is Qantas generally runs a double status credit promotion sometime around the first quarter of the year. So if you're thinking of booking travel you may want to hold off until that promotion starts back up. Generally flights booked during the promotion have to be taken within a year of booking but you'll want to read the T&Cs there.

Yep. LTS is often mocked but is valuable on OW more than QF, noticeably in the USA.
If you compare OneWorld status levels (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald) to that of Star Alliance (the major global airline alliance) you will notice that holding status with OneWorld offers more perks at every level than Star Alliance. In particular, being Lifetime Qantas Silver (OneWorld Ruby) guarantees you preferred seating not just on Qantas flights but flights with every OneWorld partner like AA and BA. Similarly, Star Alliance Silver (comparable to OneWorld Ruby) does not guarantee you priority check-in, meaning if you aren't traveling with the airline you hold status with, it's the back of the line for you!

Didn't realise LTS/Silver was so decent
Anyone know how to find how close to LTG on the app ? I am LTS (LTS thread has been closed )
Website is better for that. 7000 LTSCs. *Just* under 1/10 of LTP….

You cannot view Lifetime status credits within the Qantas app (at least on iPhone). However if you log into your QF account on a web browser, click see Activity Statement on the left hand bar, click the See Status Activity link in the panel that shows your status credits, then scroll down towards the bottom of the page you'll be presented with your lifetime status dashboard:

That’s no longer been the case for a while now. I checked again just now on my very old iPhone and they show there.

Click on the Status credit balance in the app.

Under Status Credits click Learn More

Scroll down to the bottom and you‘ll see Lifetime Membership. It’ll show how many status credits you‘ve earned in your lifetime and the total lifetime balance to achieve the next lifetime tier

e.g. You have 3,504 Status Credits earned in your lifetime.

You need 7,000 Status Credits to become a Lifetime Silver member.

I am currently a Lifetime Silver so mine shows that I need 14,000 Status Credits to become a Lifetime Gold member.

Travelling domestically I tend to fly HLO. Silver members may get priority check-in, but then they have to go to the normal queue for security etc.

This was the case too on my app until about a week ago when the Status Credit
tab disappeared. The total still appears on the home page, but not the my QFF page. Does anyone have any suggestion on how to get it back?

My guess is it’s probably a bug as you can’t view status credits at all. Where it use to appear atleast on mine it says we’re experiencing some problems no matter how many times I refresh. It stopped at the same time as the website broke on Monday so I’d assume related to that.
