Afternoon all, a bit of a newbie question for myself. I have a existing booking SYD-LAX , now I am considering a layover/stop over in LAX then onto TOR.
If I am reading the Sale fare rules correctly, I am looking at the change fee + whatever the fare LAX-TOR-LAX is , would that be correct?

Maybe change thread topic to "Qantas Sale fare change fee query". As LAX Layover/stopover question could be also for non ticket related issues?

Will depend on the ticket. Is it all one ticket SYD-LAX-YYZ-LAX-SYD or separate tickets. Is the QF fare combined with another airline's fare like AC?
The change fee is $250 (which i think is the most restrictive change fee as it is the Sale fare), plus fare re-pricing for the sectors in the ticket

You’re effectively refunding your ticket, buying a new one and adding the change fee, with your original payment deducted. The new fare will be SYD-TOR, not SYD-LAX plus LAX-TOR.

It’s probably a lot more expensive then just buying an add on ticket for the US domestic portion (if you actually mean TOR and not YYZ)

If you had booked your original ticket through a TA you could buy a second ticket on the same PNR and you would be protected, but if you bought from QF direct you won’t be able to do that. QF will just sell you a new fare to your new destination and deduct the original amount plus change fee.
