Go for Glory !
You know what they say about the eye of a needle and the rich folk

If it was cricket 🏏
Six or Out
I’d take the hoik over mid wicket to score the winning runs
So pick-Y

LMAO
Sadly those not understanding it might just hoik over mid wicket.

Is that any different to what we used to see, a J CR option and a very hefty cash option for Y?
I've never seen anything quite as obvious as this discrepancy and especially as it been touted as a wonderful win for Qantas consumers. I tend to go straight to either cash or rewards so you don't ( I think) see them on the same screen.

I've seen it quite often, and sometimes even seen J fares cheaper than Y fares when both are cash.

Not sure if related, but unable to log into QFF. Getting the good old 'We are unable to process this request currently. Please try again later' error.

We are clearly moving to a buyer beware world. You really need to have your eyes open to keep point costs reasonable.
I bet infrequent customers will find this confusing. Not that would worry QF a bit but from the PR/image viewpoint it's an unnecessary weight to carry.

Today’s Australian had a double page advertising spread showing a lot of different destinations you could get CR+ giving Y and J options and the cost on points. I thought they were all poor value.

If the paper is still around the house tomorrow morning I’ll take a photo to post.

That would not have been cheap advertising. Looks like QF are pretty keen to get people to use the CR+.

For better or worse, this has always been the case (points+pay price shown on booking screen when you select pay with points)

but there was the “Rewards” only filter before.

I’m surprised by the earlier screen shot. Aren’t the CR+ supposed to be shown with a Blue ribbon?

Nobody reads the Australian. A bizarre place to advertise.

Nobody reads the Australian. A bizarre place to advertise.

A few of us do - and if you want national exposure with one media buy, its only competition is the Fin (3/4 of the Oz) and I reckon that readership is a bit skewed.

So maybe not such a bizarre place to advertise? ;)

Today’s SMH (and probably the Age) has the 2 page spread also - print and digital versions.

Quite the spend, then. I wonder if they bothered with the Hobart Mockery?
Just had a look online, couldn't find the spread, but there was an opinion piece by Anthony Keane which starts off with:

The biggest changes to the Qantas Frequent Flyer scheme in 35 years announced last week sparked a mixed reaction from members, marketing experts and commentators, and rightly so.

Qantas's introduction of a new "Classic Plus" tier of reward flights was described by some PR specialists as "clear as mud" and a "sleight of hand"...
