Can anyone explain why the taxes and fees for domestic reward tix from MEL to CBR are quite a bit higher than to other other places, such as SYD ($51 vs $34)? VA only charges around $31 for similar flights, and BA only charges GBP20 for the same flight on QF metal (as well as only 4,500 avios vs 8,000 QF points).
Is it just Qantas charging what the market will bear for Canberra flights? It certainly puts me off booking such tickets.
