Yes, I've already converted 4 flights to vouchers @jboy90, with another 6 to go (should now be eligible based on the new advice today, they are in June).

I did it via email with Amex Travel and it did take a few days but the process is complete now and I didn't lose my travel credit, so I'm happy.

In Feb, I booked (credit card online with QF) a flight ADL-MEL-ADL (Y) returning on the same day, in April. The forward flight time has subsequently been slightly altered by QF. The reason for the trip is no longer applicable and with a 14d isolation once you cross each state border, the trip is now impossible to take. I don't know whether the reason for the travel will ever be reinstated by 31/12/21 (voucher validity). In Feb, I had already used points to upgrade to Business. I want a full refund, dollars and points. Can I expect this and how would I proceed?

And to clear up any confusion, the terms of the flight credit are now clearly stated in QF's email to members:

No change fees apply when rebooking but please note that the flight credit can only be used towards a fare of equal or higher value than the original fare you purchased.

So - the $64 question is - how much higher will fares be when you have smaller planes and hundreds of thousands of passengers all racing to use vouchers by December 2021. Passengers may be faced with the dilemma of paying double the credit for a new fare, or losing the credit completely.

I must have missed the link, but I couldn't see how to contact Amex Travel by email or Chat. I was working through from my Amex Ultimate $450 travel credit page.

Any pointers or a screen shot appreciated.

I had an international reward booking using points for May. A few days ago I cancelled if via the Mange my booking, where it did say the 6000 point cancellation fee would be waived.

When I go back to my account, it still shows the booking details, however when I click on the "Manage my booking", it gives and error "We are unable to find this confirmation number. Please validate your entry and try again or contact us for further information. (8104) ".

No points have been refunded and no taxes have been repaid. I'm not sure if that is others experience, but interested to know if this is just a delay in the processing where the points/taxes will be paid and booking removed from my account or whether there is a genuine problem.

Update on my above scenario.

All QFF points have been returned to my account and 6k booking fee (per pax which was 4) was waived. My CC which paid for the taxes does not have a credit at this point. I'll wait patiently for now.

Qantas flight credit extension

From today, anyone holding a Qantas ticket for travel before 31 July 2020 can get a flight credit and retain the full value of their booking. You need to do this by 30 April 2020. The flight credit is valid for booking and travel by 31 December 2021. This gives you more than 18 months to plan, rebook and travel.

If you already have a Qantas flight credit issued on or after 31 January 2020, this will also be automatically extended but may take a few weeks to update in our system.

No change fees apply when rebooking but please note that the flight credit can only be used towards a fare of equal or higher value than the original fare you purchased.

Find out more about flight credits and your options here.

Our call centres are under significant pressure responding to the rapidly evolving travel situation. We thank you for your patience, and ask that you avoid calling unless you're due to travel in the next 48 hours.

Alternatively, you can wait until we make the changes. If your flight is affected, we will contact you as soon as possible with your options.

I contacted them via email at the following address: [email protected]

This is from an email sent by Olivia Worth today:

"Qantas Frequent Flyer is doing what we can to support our loyal members as we adapt to these changes. That includes complimentary 12 month Status Extension for eligible members, recrediting 100 per cent of points from cancelled Classic Flight Reward bookings and waiving change fees."

That's the clearest statement I've seen from Qantas on this topic.

Wonder if this is targeted (shouldn't be judging by the circumstances) but I didn't receive it 🤔

*edit* after a bit of digging around I found the email!

Is this credit the same flight credit you receive if you book direct with Qantas - meaning with this credit, you will do future rebook directly with Qantas, and don't have to go thru Amex?

Afraid not, I do need to rebook with Amex to recieve the credit, I can't see it in my Qantas account and all I get is a number to use during rebooking with Amex.

Was that a cash credit back to your Amex account?

No unfortunately, it's a flight credit that I need to redeem.

That's OK with me as it was my $450 travel credit, plus about $25 that I redeemed on almost the first day of the annual cycle.

Is there a time limit on the flight credit?

Is there a time limit on the flight credit?

Yes, both for rebooking and for travelling. Here's mine:

You must rebook no later than (05FEB2021).
Travel on the new ticket must be completed by (05FEB2021).

I suspect this will be extended now due to the increased time period offered by Qantas, but I would need to confirm that with Amex. My bookings were cancelled before the latest comms about the window being extended,
