Qantas have now partnered with Quandoo to bring back points earn for booking restaurants. It is still 100 points per diner. This appears to work internationally.

Terms are as below

Qantas said:
^You must be a Qantas Frequent Flyer member to earn Qantas Points. A joining fee may apply. Membership and points are subject to the Qantas Frequent Flyer program terms and conditions. To earn Qantas Points, you must login via Qantas Restaurants so your session is tracked when you complete your booking on the Quandoo site. Booking tracking will expire after 30 minutes, so you must complete your booking in this time. To make multiple bookings, you are required to login via Qantas Restaurants for each restaurant booking you wish to earn Qantas Points on. You will not be eligible to earn Qantas Points, on multiple bookings made without logging out and logging back into Qantas restaurants for each booking. You will earn 100 Qantas Points per diner in your booking and will receive your points within 7 days of dining. You will also not earn any Qantas Points for booking which are cancelled or for diners under your booking who did not attend the restaurant and dine.

What's a 100 points......! You eat out once a week with the family, 400 points x 52 weeks = 20,800 point over 12 month, one economy reward flight.

Car hire, Uber and other low earning point initiatives are a waste of time. It will take a life time to earn enough points for a J class reward flight. Earning points on flights is also a waste of time for the majority of QFF members. C/C churning is the only initiative that get you to where you want t go....

Can't see this one ending well, i.e the last time they attempted this.

If you can afford to throw free points down the drain, that's great for you. Some of us need every last one we can get. If I'm already booking a restaurant on the platform why shouldn't I get something for it?

It all adds up ... and especially if you do fly alot it can make a difference.

Currently I have over 400k airline points all up. At least 80k are from non flying promotions.

This is great news and contrary to another point of view the selection of restaurants is significantly greater than what it was before.

One problem I find is where do you enter you QFF details? I registered - nothing. I check my profile - no QFF # stored against a profile. I tried to do a booking and like the QFF site did on booking there was no where to enter your QFF number? All it talked about was earning Quandoo points.

Hopefully I've missed something but if anybody can point out that folly it would be most appreciated.

And also, I earnt a squid load of points when the previous Qantas Restaurants of 100 points per diner was in action. Most through work related dining.

In my view, not as good as the previous arrangement. There seems to be less variety of options. In saying that, hubby and I had made some bookings through quandoo through cashrewards and have enjoyed the $4 off. I guess for some work related stuff or weekend eating out where possible, it is a nice way to rack up some extra points.

In Melbourne (and suburbs), by my estimation compared to the # of Qantas restaurants offerings in previous there would be a multiple of 2-3 times the number of choices.

I guess different areas will be different. You log in to QFF and then it clicks through to the booking site. Bit like cashback websites, relies on cookies to track correctly.

You need to log into QFF on the Qantas Restaurants website and then click through to Quandoo. Here's the relevant page: Restaurants | Qantas

You won't be able to do it just yet as the partnership launches tomorrow.

I received 400 Quandoo points for signing up. From what I recall of reading that 1000 points equals $15 credit...

Not sure if I'm able to convert them to QFF points.

As with the previous system, you can't claim for missing points. You are totally reliant on the restaurant submitting details of your attendance.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Better than nothing I suppose (and there is no competition from VA in this space either).

Certainly the calibre of restaurants on this platform is far below The Fork (formerly known as Dimmi) unfortunately.
