Qantas reciprocal relationship with KLM/Air France (2020 onwards)

I’d be sure to enter my QFF with any leading zeros (as applicable) to ensure the AF / KL systems recognise your QF FF#.
Interesting! I wonder how many digits is standard for them to determine how many leading zeros I should enter.

I believe QFF#s are 7 digit.

My physical cards showing one leading zero and 6 non zero digits. But they drop the leading zero on the virtual card. Which didn’t help when CX were re-entering my FF# without success - until I suggested they add the zero and Bingo! (Group 1, Lounge, Extra Luggage etc)….

My membership number is 7 digits starting with a 2...... +1's is 7 digits starting with a 4......

Our grandkids have 10 digit numbers starting with 2003.....
Thanks. I had a vague recollection that there might be new number formats. Sounds like the 10 digit ones start with something other than a zero!

I believe the key would be to punch in whatever appears on a physical card - if you have one.

Even more surprised now that I got an upgrade FOR FREE into premium economy on the way back from DPS to SIN on KL836 on a KLM issued cheapish economy ticket.

While at the airport, I received an SMS from “Air France” that I should report to the service desk.

Chapeau KLM!

Been many years since I’ve flown KLM long haul but after the last few DPS-SIN J trips I’m going to have to seriously look into it in the future

I have some intra Europe flights on KLM in Y coming up. Any benefit in adding my Qf number (as Plat) to the booking? Eg seat selection, lounge access?
Travelling KLM Y from VCE to AMS yesterday, I could use the Sky Priority check in to check my bag in, avoiding the long Q of American tourists checking in for their flights to US! Also had priority baggage but my bag took forever to come out (even though it was one of the first few out) at Shi.hole (aka as Schipol)!

Also got a gate upgrade from Y to J...KLM J is really nothing special with better food and wine but same seats as Y! :(

No lounge access at VCE but used Priority Pass to access the busy Marco Polo Lounge at VCE :)

On AF/KL primes, QF gold/plat/plat one status gives you sky priority check in/fast track security and seat selection benefits (eg. free when it's normally paid), on all routes, even non codeshare.
I am thinking of booking a KLM flight from AMS to OPO. Does having WP/P1 allow the extra baggage allowances as well, or is this not counted? I will have to book directly with KLM because there are no reward fares on the day I was hoping to fly. If recognised, booking the basic fare is much cheaper than any other option to include a bag.

I know with BA if I select the most basic fare the OW Benefits like bags are not recognised.

Yes, WP extra baggage allowance is honoured. I have travelled Y with two check in bags. It happened automatically as “Premium” (or similar) was also printed on the boarding pass.

Great to hear! I only booked earlier this year with CR, luckily, so I wasn't sure it was due to the backend booking Qantas did. I just didn't want a surprise at the gate where the system might not recognise the status and force me to pay for a checked + cabin bag.
Gives me confidence to just book directly via the website and put in my QFF on that page.
