LAX is fairly easy to get to a nearby hotel.

We catch a Long Island Limosuines limo normally. Waits outside and drops us off at the daughter's place.

We stayed in a hotel in Burbank last time, just near WB Studios which we did a tour.

TSA hasn't been an issue for us. I have a urostomy so that attracts attention, but the LAX TSA guys were much more understanding than the <redacted> at MEL the last time out.

It’s more likely that when the launch happens there might be a few points planes flights to create some positive buzz in the media, but practically if there are not points plane flights for the return journey say a few weeks or so later it’s not much help as one way international flights are expensive.

Same fares they’re charging now for the non-stops. So there’s not gonna be a massive increase. If they can fill enough for the PER-LHR/CDG/FCO then they mush be ok with JFK/LHR

How do you figure that? The fare say Sydney to JFK will have a premium of 20% put on it over the fares you currently have to pay to get from one to the other . VH confirmed that in New York today or yesterday. The fact that it’s the same as the premium Perth to London doesn’t mean it’s not going to be a substantial increase in Sydney to New York.!

You’ll be paying 20% more to get to New York three hours earlier.

The JFK flights will be one of the more expensive, if not the most expensive single flight number ticket Qantas sells.

So with Qantas expecting 3 Sunrise aircraft in FY27 and 4 in FY28 - that is 7 aircraft by mid-2028., I suspect we will see PER-LHR switched to the ULR on most days somewhere in early 2028.

I'm not a First Class connoisseur (only flown four FC flights in my life) but it really does look like Qantas has missed a trick. One of the benefits of FC (to me, anyway) is having a bed that's not only long, but also wide. Both the Qantas FC seat and bed don't really look much wider than a modern Business Class.

Remains to be seen about the Qantas version but I can certainly agree with him on the Etihad The Apartment. Layout looked wonderful but the bed was narrow, really hard and with no anir vents and high walls it got really warm.

I guess we’ll see in due course what the real world thoughts are.

LH used to have a very similar configuration on the upper deck of some 744s (but no doors). Never flew it but I recall it was highly rated.

Also begs the question what airlines actually have a “wide” F seat/bed?

It's the new planned launch date which is delayed. Upon planning a new launch date it's only natural to publicise it.

The seat definitely looks narrow but sometimes the pictures are hard to gauge dimensions , wait and see I guess
