I made payments for registering my car and compulsory green slip (3rd party) insurance which I think are the tranasctions which did not attract Qf pts.....very sneaky!!
Yep, many (most??) points-earning cards are not paying points for anything they can identify as a potential government spending, be it Federal, State or Local Government.

Well the Qf points posted today to my Qf account but I seemed to be about 1600 Qf pts short :(

I looked up their Ts and Cs to see what is eligible spend to earn Qf pts:

The car registration would be paid directly to the government so certainly won't get any points for that transaction, but I think the insurance payment should get points - it's paid to a private company.

good luck with the sign up bonus hitting quickly, i'm waiting still after meeting spend beginning of May. New statement due tomorrow so if not paid this cycle i'll be going to AFCA.
Oh wow this is not good.

I assumed the bonus points would come through with the statement that you met the spend target or the month after.

Has anyone else had issues with the bonus points being delayed by many months?

I'm trying to time my spend for the bonus points to come through for Points Club.

150k titanium bonus points arrived within the 2 months from meeting the spend criteria stated in the T&Cs, and seems like the same is stated for platinum as well. Didn’t receive on the first statement after meeting the criteria, but received following the next statement

Not sure if I'm reading too much into it, but the web page for the Platinum card got quietly updated recently (within the last month) to remove the warning about "Fees, charges and earn rates (if applicable) are subject to change from 1 October 2026. If we make changes, these will be communicated in accordance with our terms & conditions."

I wonder whether this means the earn rate isn't going to change in October.

Looks competitive in the new regime except for some of the fee and chrges: Qantas Platinum Card fees and rates | Qantas Money

For example: $50 additional cardholder, $5 international cash advance, 3% international transaction fee, etc.

While government spending does not qualify for earning points on this card, does Government spending count towards the initial spending threshold for bonus points? Such spend is not "eligible spend" for earning point, so I am assuming it is also not eligible spend for initial spend threshold for the bonus points, but would be nice if someone has first-hand experience or knowledge?

In my case vehicle registration was over $1100 and I am not expecting it to result in QFF points earning, but not sure if it contributes to the $5000 spend in 90 days for the bonus, though assuming/expecting not.

No

Surprised to have received my bonus points with the statement that I met the $5000 spend, not the month later as was advised / occurred with some others above.

I suppose most people would be happy about this, but in my case it means I now get Points Club for 1 less year. I had tried to time my spend so the bonus points would credit next month, at the start of my new QFF Membership Year. Instead they've come a week before the end of my current year!...

Anyway, I would normally cancel the card at this point, but might hold it open in case it becomes the card that Points Club benefits are conferred to. Although I suppose I still won't need that for a year now, so may as well just cancel and re-apply in a year if needed.

I can report that even non Qf point earn spend eg government spend counts for the $5000 spend for the 80K sign up bonus.

I have gone pass the $5000 spend but NOT if you exclude non Qf point earning government spend...and tonight the 80K sign up bonus posted.

Thanks @kpc, that is encouraging news and was not my starting point for my assumption.

I will likely get to the $5000 spend in QFF points-earning qualifying transactions before my next statement anyway, but good to know I should have already achieved the target a few weeks before my up-coming statement date.
