If you’re looking for a good credit card that earns Qantas Points, Qantas Premier Platinum is a solid option. You’ll earn 1 Qantas Point per $1 on Domestic Spend (excluding government payments), up to $10,000 per statement period. Plus, you’ll earn 1 additional Qantas Point per $1 spent on eligible Qantas products and services and 1.5 points per dollar overseas.

The card includes two complimentary Qantas airport lounge invitations per year. Other travel benefits include complimentary insurance, companion fare discounts and a dedicated concierge service.

Plus, new cardholders can earn lots of bonus Qantas Points. The full bonus points are not available if you've held a Qantas points-earning credit card within the last 24 months. Refer to the full T&C’s for more information:

From my reading, it does appear that while the 40k is only earned if you haven’t earned Qantas points on a credit or charge card within 24 months, there doesn’t seem to be any mention of any restriction on the 80k relating to previously holding either this card, another Qantas Money card, or other Qantas points earning cards. Looks like the 80k would still be earned in those cases, provided the $5k spend in 90 days requirement is met, but would be interested to know whether anyone has tested that and has received the bonus points.
I agree with this reading, but I am yet to test it. I'm still serving my 24 months waiting period.

My frustration is the recent announcement of SC when using Qantas Points to make a CR or CR+ bookings. Going forward, this will only be a feature of a Qantas partner CC. HOWEVER, we are yet to be advised of which CC! Will it be this CC or some other CC? Who knows !
