Qantas poster

It also appears in the Sunday Mail today so it must be News Limited wide. Fantastic poster- I love the image of the A380 on top of the "little" aircraft (no idea what it is  ) over the desert. I think it really sells the A380 to the general public.

Yeah - also in the Sunday Times. Bit of a waste over here considering we're unlikely to be able to board the beast here for quite a few years. After all, we don't even get International 747's :(

Any scans of the poster around? For those of us sat in a hotel in China without access to Oz papers?

Avro 504K

The "little" aircraft is Queensland & Northern Territories Aerial Service Co Ltd’s first aircraft, a Avro 504K, just like the replica in the SYD. However the Avro does not have a shadow, unlike it big brother. Amazing what can be done on a computer.

A bit large to scan. Poster is 745 mm x 505 mm double sided. I can scan A3 size on a good printer - scanner at work, but would not get all the image

Anyone got a digital camera then.... I'm stuck in London, would love to see it!

Thanks for that. I guess the lack of shadow on the little one is because the A380 is blotting out the sun.

Looks like August is the "confirmed" delivery date. I really am looking forward to this - just wish it was July - that's when my RTW award is ;)

Looks like I need ot get next job lined up quick smart :)

EDIT

Just noticed for the first time that they are serving Dom in the First class suite... never seen that in F...

Also the F suite looks like someone's library almost - kind of weird looking ...

Your current job doesn't provide enough opportunity for travel?

I have said it before, and will say it again... this site is great. Within 15 minutes of a request made from China and London, a pic of the poster was up.... thanks and good work everyone...

I think he means his next client for his current job, atleast i hope so , too much travel makes you crazy i think ;) Start doing silly things like status runs :D

I like the look of the premium econ, if only it will be reasonably priced like the BA product.... wishful thinking i think.

For the last 3-4 hours I have been looking at status runs and more opportunities to fly to new destinations. I am going crazy with routes, flight times and airfares....

Yes BA World Traveller Plus is good value for money compared to WHY airfares on the route. I think I will try out WT+ on the 747 BKK-SYD for my next return trip. It is a similar price to SIN-SYD on the 777.

BTW I will be in SIN late Saturday night 8 December and leaving around lunchtime Sunday 9 December. Let me know if you want to have a drink Saturday night or brunch on Sunday.

Oh, how I can relate to that JohnK. Since I really discovered this site in April I've gone absolutely nuts. I'm:
  • Attending a FT AGM
  • Attending a FT do
  • Am educated and seriously considering a YUPP
  • Am go to BNE via BNE and SYD for brekky in the FLounge
  • Am going to LAX via SYD instead of direct
  • Am doing a pointless trip to CBR because fares were cheap (via SYD of course)
  • Not to mention becoming the person to speak to in the office if someone is planning flights for holidays (I even helped one of the Partners PA's to find F availability leaving the next day to London on Oneworld (I deserve a bonus for that one, can't imagine him in whY (it would be like Simongr on a LCC in a middle seat:!:  :!: ))
  • Am considering a milk run to CNS
  • Don't want to consider JQ or DJ to HBA for the do
  • Am saving hard core for a DONE4 and YUPP next year.
  • Oneworld timetables has become my best friend
But I love it and wouldn't have it any other way. Maybe I should have considered being a TA! :D

Oh, and I want to hang the QF poster on the wall!

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

My current role was designed to be a two year role and then something else "in the business". In addition to my current role I took on some global responsibility that I committed to doing until Feb next year. I am currently doing some work that is about 3-4 years junior to my skillset so need a greater challenge.

I am liaising with my boss to work out with him if there is a role in the business for me (there would be one in New York and potentially HKG but moving isn't really an option) and if not I need to explore roles outside of the business - with the help of the business - that could be a slow process so needs to be started soonish.

I want mor FREQUENT travel and less LONG-TERM travel (the current 3 1/2 weeks away is not a workable frequent event) - ideally a job that got me up to HKG for a week a month and new York for two sets of a week per year would be ideal ;)

Completely agree - that went up between leaving the hotel and getting to the airport :D

I find myself doing things I would never have contemplated in the past. It is an addiction, sickness, that can take hold of your life. No different to smoking, slot machines or other forms of gambling.

I have attended the last 2 Ozfests and will probably be in HBA next year even though I do not agree with the venue chosen.

I have not been to any FT AGMs yet, but may attend the next one. I do not like giving up my round of golf on Saturday mornings.

I am going to the Kiwi Mainland Do in Queenstown in November with a routing of SYD-AKL-CHC-ZQN and then returning ZQN-CHC-AKL-WLG-SYD. Don't ask! I have 2 nights in CHC and 2 nights in ZQN and I am looking at ways of maximising the mattress stays as well.

I am contemplating various status runs in Australia and have started planning the next RTW for August next year.

BTW I haven't worked since May with no real job prospects in the near future. Who is going to fund this madness?

I wouldn't go that far.

Right, thanks for the support boys. Have a feeling I wouldn't get away with that anyway. Reminds me a bit of the ad where the guy takes the girl back to his room decked out in Star Wars stuff and she gives this evil cackle and leaves.

wallacej, I hope we're going to see you at either the FT AGM or OzFest. Or haven't you swinged to the "other" side yet. ;)

You read my mind... I will have to hunt for the info on these meetings... but I know if I wait for a mintue or two, they will magically appear in the post right under this one....:)
