Qantas Points Club Discussion

Can you pre-pay your rates, health insurance, etc to gain a few extra thousand points via your credit card?
Good call, that's the current plan. Still have two monthly sweeps to work with if I time it right.

Rates might get excluded from earn (govt transactions excluded by my card) so may need to go via prepaid cards; one reason I was excited by that offer yesterday.

Read our AFF credit card guides and start earning more points now.

Good call regarding the rates although as @PaulyB says you could use a payment service (B2BPay, YakPay, etc.).

Of course the 20x gift card offers at WOW will earn Everyday Rewards points and, as you know, you would have to transfer all your points at the same time. I think prepaying health Insurance, car insurance, home & contents may be your best option. Also, look at buying some Woolies e-gift cards, especially if you have a seniors card (or know someone who has).;)

Sniip works for me to get points every time for government spend, I’m in nth Qld so even my electricity is government owned.

Just received 2000 bonus miles from a PC/PC+ promo for international flights. Anyone recall what that was? I can’t find an email but it could be upthread!

Pleasant surprise getting some bonus points along with my DSCs a couple of days after flying SYD-HNL.

Had a few things to pick up on the weekend so managed to get some store gift cards from qantas marketplace for 3x points, so i'm 1500 points on my way to the 10k target. CC monthly spend should cover maybe half of the remainder, so hopefully I can put any and all more upcoming purchases for the next two months via these gift cards to get me there.

Next year should be easier, will look to some CC sign up bonuses or similar, depending on how nerfed things get under the proposed changes.

Until a recent generous offer (now withdrawn), I hadn't realised how many giftcards with bonus points were available on Qantas marketplace. Commonest is 3 QF/$ which coupled with a credit card with bonus for QF spend could net me 5 QF/$. The Bunnings GC looks very appealing as they are not usually available via Union/NRMA/Entertainment Book sites (and only 1FB/$ at Coles)

I got those as well and can't remember the email, but I'm assuming it might have been around the same time as the domestic points offer a few months back.
