Not sure if this the right thread to ask but does anyone know how long the first time card holder bonus takes to come through? I am ready to cancel a NAB Qantas card because I received the bonus points from NAB but just waiting now on the first time cardholder bonus of 15000 points.

Will cancelling my card affect my ability to get this bonus?

I just closed my NAB credit card. I received a pro rata refund of the annual fee. The email I received stated clearly that any points not yet credited will be forfeited. It might only apply to purchases, but maybe not. I would play safe and not cancel until you see those bonus points on your statement.

Yes, definitely. As Port Power said, don't cancel until you have the points.
 
I think @Fausaken is referring to bonus points QF is/was giving out for taking out your first QFF credit card, in addition to any bonus points which may have been received from the bank.

I still don't know the answer, but it is a slightly different situation to the normal 'wait for all points before closing' advice.
 
SYD+1 and I just received emails confirming PC for another year.

Although my dashboard was telling me I’d requalified for several months.

No sign of the benefits yet.
So I requal’d PC again (for 3rd year?) - my QFF member year rolls over 01 AUG. As a data point for members retaining PC (seperate to those “attaining” PC) and when benefits get issued, 2x Lounge invites appeared in app (and online) pretty much at the beginning of the the new member year. Today, 09 Aug, email arrived with 1x QF Wine and 1x Hotel voucher codes AND my PC dashboard online is back to the new style along with the two vouchers visible.

Good to know. In my case I requaled earlier in the year but never got the vouchers, expect they will come when my year resets.

Yeah, I actually requal’d PC about 6 months ago but wasn’t expecting any benefits to appear until this month.
 
where are you seeing this? I qualified for both PCP+ and retained SG this year. Only expiry date I can see is my SG card which is end of next membership year (in line with my SG retention date).
Do you have a "Paused" Qantas Club Membership? That is, one that was paused due to you attaining SG while you had a purchased membership.
 
I get very confused when it comes to earning status credits for reward flights as a Qantas points club member on a rewards flight I have booked on the Qantas website flying Fiji Air.
2 flights booked on FJ81 Vancouver Nadi FJ95 Nadi Melbourne. I do not understand the definition of a marketed flight number and its Status Credit earning ability when you add the additional complexity of Qantas points club membership

'Marketing airline' or marketing carrier means the airline whose airline code or number (eg 'QF' for Qantas) is recorded on the ticket. This can be different to the airline whose aircraft is doing the actual flying (this airline is known as the operating airline or carrier).

Your quote explains it all.

Marketed flight numbers are FJ81 and FJ95 in your case.
You do not earn status credits on these flights, only on QF flight numbers.

Easiest way to remember: it’s needs a QF flight number AND a kangaroo on the tail.*

*There’s some exceptions such as QF flights operated by Alliance, but for the vast majority of case the rule above applies.

Well, that’s the official definition but stranger things can happen. Alas, I’d only lodge a claim for missing flights against the definition. 😁

Have always been gold so never had QC membership, also retained gold again this year. Qualified for PC+ for first time this year and didn't get any notification/acknowledgement of QC membership, just got usual coughpy vouchers. Thought I might be able to gift it or keep it as a 1 year buffer in case I ever fell from gold.

Yes, no gifting QC is a shame. But you might get to bank that 1yr gratis. I’m not aware of anyone here who’s dropped below Gold and been able to confirm that bonus QC was back in play. You’d hope it works the same as a paid year but maybe the IT tags comp year vs paid 🤷‍♂️.

Yes, but presumably you were NB the first QF flight you ever stepped on board? 😉

Even then one needs a few “squiggles” (flight segments) to jump to SG.
