Qantas Points Back promotion

Has anyone worked out whether redemption in J/F gets a higher rebate? Or is it just a flat rebate based on the zone for the redeemed flight(s) ?

Its a bit hard since the whole thing seems a bit amateurish, the link that answers the question is yet to go live
http://prod-preview.qantas.com.au/fflyer/dyn/memberSpecials/points-back-offer

Actually, if you remove "prod-preview." and hit the link, the page loads up.

And the page has the following text, which leads me to believe the rebate is based only on the distance travelled.

The table below shows you how many Qantas Points you'll get back, based on the distance you travel internationally. We've also given you an idea of what you can do with the Qantas Points you could receive from your trip.

i booked an international award flight on the 21st of January for travel before the 31st of March, does this mean I won't get the points back cos I booked two days ago???!!!:(

Cos if that's true its a massive pile of doggy doo doo!!

Why? If you buy something at the supermarket and a week or 2 later it's on sale do you think you're entitled to the sale price retrospectively?

I was in this exact situation recently... I'd bought an item from the supermarket when it was on special the week before and the price dropped again the following week. I simply returned it and they fully refunded me the original price not the first sale price. I then bought the same item at the second sale price!

And that option is available to the op if there award seats still available.

Effectively a ~20% discount for a SYD-SIN/BKK/HKG return award redemption.

If you were already going to book a classic award then this is a nice little bonus.

This is not very clear AT ALL. If I book a one way award e.g. MEL-AKL do I get back 8000 points? The 'examples' only talk about return tickets. There is nothing saying one way isn't allowed either. There is no proper published table of zones and points back.

Re: Reap the rewards & receive Qantas Points back on a Qantas International Classic A

Does this work for one-way trips as well? It's rather unclear, and the points examples are using return trips.

Re: Reap the rewards & receive Qantas Points back on a Qantas International Classic A

My pointsback came into the account yesterday, only a week or so to go to book.

Re: Reap the rewards & receive Qantas Points back on a Qantas International Classic A

I got lucky with this promotion. I didn't know it was on and booked cheap Y flights SYD-LAS return. After using points to upgrade to J both ways, I checked my account a few days after landing and was surprised to see 32,000 points credited. Now to plan for the next trip.

Re: Reap the rewards & receive Qantas Points back on a Qantas International Classic A

Think (hope) I got lucky too. Didn't know it was on, upgraded a (bought) PE flight to J a couple of weeks back with points and just got points added to account today. More than half the points of the upgrade credited back - had I known about it, and that it applied to upgrades also, I would have upgraded the whole return trip rather than just one leg!
