oooh some excitement.. someone finally upped the ante to 2.2M+1 point

Way for QF to get rid of some huge points balances...

WOW! it ust jumped to 3M points.

someone REALLY wants this!

And IIRC, people here did question the wisdom of that - or others' similar - usage at the time.

Oh, I completely agree that buying wine, or similar, is not a 'good' use of points but in the current state of not being able to travel, I viewed a points purchase of wine amounting to 'free' wine.

Someone likes the number 48!

like how did THAT happen?
It is not like the bidding on eBay or other online auctions when you can put in your max bid and it works up to that based on what others bid. In the QF auction whatever number you bid and if it is the highest offer this becomes the new highest bid. It is more like the house auction or in person auctions.

Someone PM me please when the auction offers 100 packages of 100 QFF status credits.... to the top 100 bidders

Sounds like he's a man who has no use for FF points as he has enough money to pay for all the flights he could want anyway. And he probably finagles points through his business transactions. So using them for "experiences" and publicity is as good a way of spending them as any.

Qantas says that its first Points Auction was so successful, it's now planning a second one to take place by the end of this year.

What experiences/memorabilia would you like to see offered for auction in the next round, and what would you like Qantas to do differently next time?
