To all the newly-minted Platinum One frequent flyers out there... I'm curious to hear... what's been your experience so far?

Anything different?

Free upgrades?

... or all hype?

each to their own, but the offer of any "test flight" does not really do it for me. I have still not boarded an A350, but I suspect most P1's would value more a day without an aircraft involved :)

Indeed, thanks for flying with us nearly every week of the year, and to thank you here is another 90 minutes on an aircraft !

Is anyone in the same boat? P1 with both wife and children platinum so the partner platinum is wasted. Wish gifting of this benefit was allowed in the same way as the 2400sc gold offering.

my Husband will hit Platinum next month, he suggested I gift my Platinum to our friend with cancer on his final bucket list trips and I had to tell him not possible...

Unable to gift platinum status too.

I did mention this to QF in their P1 feedback requests; hopefully there will be some choice for this benefit.

Wasted for me too. The gold gift has been great for me to give to other family members.

Your reference to feedback requests - may I ask what form these were? I don't recall ever being asked for feedback

Right down the bottom of the Platinum One "briefing" provide feedback on what you think of Platinum One, plus space for comments

OK. Now I owe you two drinks. Never even saw this.

Feedback now provided.

In the course of my recent chats with the SST and their boss I have provided some feedback, but good to put into a survey.

If they’re not willing to give Partner Platinum to anyone other than a Partner surely they could do alternatives e.g.

A 2nd Partner Gold to give to another friend
Or 50,000 points
etc.

Partner Platnium was introduced midway through the history of the P1 program to recognise and enable the partners of P1’s to travel independently to meet their often absent P1 partners whilst enjoying the perks of a WP on the journey.

It was not intended so much to be an additional P1 specific benefit but rather a benefit of being a partner of a P1. Hence the stricter restrictions of who it can be gifted to

Haven't seen the line about 'getting you in comfort to where the oft-absent P1 happens to be so you can meet her or him' before. Really??

To many of us it's just a cheapskate way to proclaim a benefit that actually has pretty low cost - many partners will already be WPs; or if travelling with the P1 they will get the key benefits anyway.

Another household where the Partner Platinum offer has no value at all.
My partner and I have both been Platinum One for much of the history of that level, and where one of us has not been (that is, where he has not ;)), then the non-P1 has been Platinum anyway.
Feedback on that aspect has been given to QF on several occasions.
No response that I recall. :)

There must be a huge difference between love flying and seeing flying as a chore.

At around 120 flights/year I'm not into Platinum One territory but I'd jump at the chance if invited to a "test flight".

Yet another with useless Partner Plat option.. I suppose I could sign up the cat? I don't think she'd care though :D

TonyHancock.. mate.. buddy... BA Gold you say? :D

+1

I suspect I fall into the half of P1's where my wife basically only travels when with me - so her P1 ptr status as a WP has exactly zero value.
