Fantastic service on my KTA-PER flight this evening.
As soon as the seat belt sign was off the the CSM appeared with a bottle of wine and stayed for a long, intimate chat.
The meal was served early and it was non-stop nibbles and free drinks for the rest of the flight.
I suppose I should add that the recipient of this largesse was the QF staffer who had assumed my shadow at the last minute.
Nada for yours truly.
<snip> So despite a bad week of flying and being offered 4 cheese boxes, 4 chicken salads or 4 bean soups (1 CSM called it fart soup lol)<snip>.
Now that is just plain wrong virtually snubbing a significant customer whilst Pampering a staff member I hope Red Roo is reading this.
Don't get me wrong I understand wanting to look after your own but surely discretion is called for here.
While I might have been mildly miffed at the time, as I now sit in the SQ F lounge awaiting my suite, it's safe to say I am well and truly over it.
An urgent status run is required to requalify for P1......

With the exception of a better Y seat choice, there is no real difference between P1 and WP. My involuntary seat shift count has actually gone up since being P1 (particularly in J) and my P1/WP shadow count has dropped significantly (even on lowly loaded flights). The P1 welcome is very rare and generally would only appear to occur when the CSM is also doing the rounds of others on the aircraft (I was ignored on Friday when she was doing the rounds of others, maybe there was alot of CL on the flight). The P1 apologies and excuses team are absolutely useless in everyway and I have not spoken to them for about six months now.
Upgrade count has been one airport QFd, one onboard QFd and one airport QFi (Y->J SIN-PER) upgrade. Nothing on EK (but P1 and WP are the same on EK anyway).

Flew AKL-SYD-LAX last Thursday. (Yes it's a JASA.) Shadow on the first leg and op upped to F on the second.
In between a lovely spa treatment at SYD F Lounge. The FAs on both legs were awesome. The plane was full everywhere except F where there were at least 3 seats vacant.

And on the return leg, LAX-MEL arriving this morning my BP wasn't scanning at the gate. The gate agent went away to check why and came back with another BP and a seat in F.
Six minutes from plane door to chauffeur meeting point (HLO) and then driven home for a couple of hours before heading off to AKL tonight.

Some great news post the HKG AFF get together, had my first and second upgrade as a P1.
On board QF128, thanks to some lobbying from the 5 AFF'ers in F I was asked by the CSM to join them and move into row 5. (I was in J)
Then on the SYD MEL flight was beeped at the gate and went from 23A to 1F
So my 102 and 103rd flights as P1 I managed to score some sprinkles from the upgrade fairy nice one QF.
Already sent through a letter to QF about John the CSM, happy days!
Prior to becoming P1 I was running at 1 upgrade every 100 flights, now I'm 1 in 50, so things are looking up
(EK is one every 5 flights and CX is one every 4 flights, a little way to go QF )
