Another QANTAS bash.

I HATE the news presented in Australia.

Quote: "
The plane was operated by Cobham Aviation Services but was flying under the banner of QantasLink."

It may be a beatup but if QF are going to assign their brand to a 3rd party then they still have to be prepared to accept the rap if they stuff up.

Think Colgan Air > Continental in the US - driving for greater profits by utilising 3rd party providers with leaner organisations (and standards).

Indeed. If something were to happen to one of those aircraft, then it is the brand on the side of the plane that matters.

Qantas selected that supplier, so one would hope that Qantas would have considered that suppliers credentials.

......The Australian Transport Safety Bureau report found the drama resulted from the captain entering the wrong data on the plane's weight into the flight computers — an error unnoticed by the co-pilot.

The plane's landing weight was being calculated at 9.4 tonnes lighter than its actual weight......
Pilot error followed by copilot error ?
Many problems are a combination of faults that compound
