Hi all,

Was speaking to a travel consultant today as I'm looking at heading over to the USA in June. I have a Qantas Pass from an identical trip in 2020. I really don't want to have to deal with Qantas, (Website and CS), so I have the following Question...

Can I use my Qantas Pass if I use a travel agent?

cheers!

No. It's a Qantas only payment, although it is a UATP. Travel pass was designed for passenger to Qantas only. TA could use it, but it generally wouldn't be a TA associated booking then.

Travel agents use accounts that QF charge them and then the travel agents charge you.

Turns out that even credits incurred by the TA themselves seem impossible to use... am forced to use TripActions for work and can't use a credit incurred from cancelling a domestic flight on an international journey. Agent I spoke to said this was a Qantas rule, but couldn't find anything in the Fly Flexible policy (https://www.qantas.com/agencyconnec...-policy-fly-flexible-domestic-and-tasman.html) that would suggest as much.

A connection on an international flight is nearly always non-refundable as you are paying for the journey, not individual sectors.
For example MEL-LHR via SYD, you are not buying the SYD leg, you are simply buying a MEL-LHR flight,

I'm not sure that that's correct, the last bit in particular. Some (?most?) TAs may do that, but many, including mine - a mid sized private/corporate place in Melbourne - simply used my credit card (on file) for the bookings, after I approved the amounts. Yes, I trusted them - used them for about 13 years pre covid. :) They had all my FF and hotel loyalty details as well and simply made all my international flight and hotel bookings.

So, I forget the details of Travel Passes, but if its a form of credit in the pax's name, then I don't see why a TA couldn't use it in the pax's name (given the various details), as they used my cc.

All I'm saying is, the travel pass is designed for passengers dealing directly with Qantas.
There is a reason why you can't get one or a voucher credit with Qantas when using a travel agent.
When dealing with a TA the credit is with the agent, not the airline directly.

Hi, I have a qantas pass from my credit card that I can use, however i booked it through a TA and I cannot link it. Can you help me? Am I allowed to do so with qantas directly or need to go through TA?

Can you be more specific about "qantas pass from my credit card." What exactly is this and which credit card (which bank?). I think you probably have something different than the "Qantas Pass" described in this thread which was a method of providing a refund for Covid-cancelled flights, not anything to do with credit cards.

As far as travel agents are concerned, generally the rule is that if you booked a specific itinerary/flights with an agent, you must continue to deal with that agent for that booking. However again I'm not sure how this relates to your credit card "pass" without more information.
