Hi All,
Am a platinum QAN FF and recently booked a 1 x pax MEL -LHR return ticket utilising a credit from a cancelled business trip.
When I filled out the pax details and moved on to the payment page on the QAN website, I authorised the quoted $4.8k balance to be charged to my cc.
The flight was not ticketed for approx. 8 days, and lo and behold, when the itinerary was issued a $12.5k charge was applied.
My question is, would Qantas have been aware of the discrepancy and simply over ridden the web quoted figure?
Would be interested in your feedback.

If it really happened as you say (and you didn't just buy a new flight rather than rebook using the voucher) then it seems like an obvious error and would presumably be rectified with a simple phone call.

Hang on - are you saying your credit card was charged for $12,500, or that the eticket shows the cost of the ticket at $12,500? And what was the value of the credit voucher you used?

Hi opusman, the credit used was from a cancelled domestic itinerary.
I didn't rebook the original, just used the credit towards the new flight.
QAN are fluffing around.
Whilst they acknowledge there is a problem, the management of the issue is dependent on whether I produce a screen shot of the payment page.
I guess my question is, would they have been aware of the fare discrepancy and overridden the quoted figure manually?

Payment page authorisation was $4.8 k.
e-ticket (issued 8 days later) showed a charge of$12.5k and Credit card was charged $12.5 k

Something weird has definitely happened. It should not have taken 8 days for the eticket to be issued, to start with. Is the PNR on the eticket the same as the PNR you received when making the booking? And is the credit voucher still showing in your bookings?

PNR the same.
Credit voucher no longer showing in my bookings.
New ticket's Booking reference is also the same as the original ticket and credit note.

This sounds very strange, and I'd like to follow up with you. Please send me a private message with your details as reference.
