Qantas - new gen dash 8 - which routes?

Hi all,

soon travelling a few canb-syd return trips in a qantaslink dash 8 q400. Have read that qantaslink has been, and continues to, adding new generation models of this plane to the network. Is anyone aware what routes these new gen aircraft are operating on and if it is likely I would get a new gen plane. Cheers!

The LQ series (ie "Next-Gen") are deployed in the same way as any other aircraft so there's no way to know if you'll get one or not. The only sure bet would be in WA as the updated avionics in these planes are required for the operations out of PER.

As the OP said, there is no real way of knowing in advance unless you have insider information. Are these flights in the next few days?

In saying that, there is not a great deal of difference really between the "older" dash-8 400s and the next gen aircraft, other than different cabin lighting and other minor things that most people probably wouldn't even notice.
