this can confirm no curtain 😄
Yep no curtain lol.

Also, crew struggling quite a bit serving business class and hot food options had run out by row 3. Overhead lockers are great and the device holder is nice but otherwise it’s no different to a 737 and the usual Qantas cheapness hasn’t changed.

Quieter ride maybe?

If they are operating on short triangle flights shouldn’t be much issue, anything longer than 3 hours might be problematic.

Crazy to think they would have all come like this had AJ still been in charge.

Yep, this little gem is doing the rounds today:

I take OMAAT with a pinch or handful of tabloid salt depending on the issue, but still, not quite the PR they were going for.

Flash survey everyone:
  • Thumb up 👍 if you are reading this message while seating on the toilette.
  • Shocked face 😲 if you ever wrote a post while seating on the toilette (I cant put a smiley rraction on my post, but if I could...)

Now, imagine what happens if you increase the pax to toilette ratio, while simultaneously providing fast free internet onboard.

I'm self-adding 🤣 to indicate yes, at least one of the above, and also lol.

This combination also hadn't occurred to me yet and especially knowing people get bored on airplanes and might want... relief from their boredom, well, I wish the combination hadn't occurred to me.

Imo, there's something very "I want to get out of here as soon as possible" about a plane loo though; not quite the same as some on the ground.

But people have different comfort levels...

Hopefully the 3 lavs they have are slightly larger than the ones in the 737s, those require ayurvedic yoga moves to turn around in even for a slim person.

ET reports in its review of the first flight yesterday that the aircraft will have “a full-height partition wall and curtain” between business and economy from plane #4 onwards, with the first 3 to be retrofitted later (along with the addition of the extra loo).

Interesting that OMAAT article says the extra 3rd/4th toilet will be directly behind business - which would definitely be a full height partition.

Albeit don't think other 321s have had a toilet that far forward. Behind the wing or right at the back have been seen.

Crazy to think they would have all come like this had AJ still been in charge.
Any source for that?

My understanding from posts elsewhere is that the first XLRs (originally due in FY24 when ordered in 2019) were destined for JQ, and after delays and a decision to flip them to QF it was too late to alter the toilet option, albeit seemingly door could be changed.

JQs 321XLR per seatmaps up thread will be 12J/PE 196Y with the activated aft-wing door, and only three toilets - presumably none exclusive for J/PE.
