Umm no - none of the 332's that had 199 Y seats have been refurbed. In actual fact, there is a reduction in Y seats as the config was 36J/(265/268Y).

Don't be absurd. My intention was to compare ACTUAL previous international 332 layout vs what we are now being asked to accept. You are comparing with the previous domestic layout which is meaningless.

No, I am not the one being absurd. You are picking and choosing things to try and suit your argument without looking at the full picture.

You are incorrect in stating that QF are squashing 243 seats into the space that 199 seats used to fit.

I'll give you the hint, look at the seat maps. Compare the scale of the two layouts and you will see that it makes sense. The skybed cabin finishes about 5 rows into 243Y cabin. Do the math and you will see that space wise it fits those ~40 new seats that are in the new 332 layout.

The seats haven't changed in Y. Just been refreshed with the iPad power for those without IFE previously.

yeah im usually on the 333s, their new seats are far superior, must be the design that creates a feeing of more pitch

It would have been nice for QF to have the consistent Y product amongst the A330 fleet but oh well, it's not to be.

It would be nice if QF had a consistent (as opposed to semi-non-existent) Y+ product on all their wide body aircraft....

But I keep asking for things QF doesn't want to provide.

Considering that they do not offer Y+ domestically, I don't think adding Y+ to the 330's was a necessity.

They don't have to sell Y+ domestically in order to have a small cabin on the 330s. When used domestically, the seats would just be blocked off for status holders and/or sold as extra leg room seats.
They only need 2 rows.

And remember that CX has reduced the PEY cabin on the A330s to 3 rows. Only the larger 777s and (soon to be retired) 747s have 4 rows.
At two rows it wouldn't even have to be a separate cabin, extra leg room, width and recline. Which on the flights to SEAsia from eastern Australia is (would be) very much appreciated (by some)

Happy wandering

"Build it and they will come."

If PE is on the plane then I would book it over economy, airlines are racing to the bottom in economy (BA changes highlight it). If you can't afford business then PE is a great alternative and is where business was last century or where JQ is now.

Yes but its largely a failure on aust-asia(7 to 9 hours)
Hence why cx reduced seats and sq offers it only sparsely and those using it are usually connecting on to Europe on 24 hour journeys. PE is really only a success on long haul trips that's why QF don't offer it on the A330 fleet.

QF's loss then. No PE on a given flight to Asia (or any international flight over 3 hours) and I simply will not book that flight.

Fair enough but they obviously dont consider it a loss.
