So is this a benefit for WP1s that CLs don't get? No mention of CLs from what I've read. Or do CLs get free booze and food?

CLP1, P1 and Ambassadors only. The lounge only seats 12 so if all the CLs in Sydney spent their lunch break in there is would be standing room only.

I am looking right at MCA from across Circular Quay.
i think the architect for the redevelopment forgot about the Harbour view when he signed off on the redevelopment.
Great news for WP1s and it is something we can aspire to as we travel more.

Wow P1 suddenly became worth it for me. TICK.

As I joked earlier, it seems a little underwhelming... but a nice touch if you are a MCA regular, or so simply want to escape the crowds at a "special event".

My, how things are changed - in the 90's such services used to be offered on a complimentary basis for mere QP members ...

I will be attending the MCA lounge tomorrow (Thursday August 9th) at around 1-2pm and haveva guest spot available if anyone wants to come in for a look. Prefer to guest someone who is interested in becoming an MCA Ambassador but not required.

I was there a couple weeks ago to check it out.

It's extremely small.
You can see everything from the outside.
There is no food - only some juice/coffee.
There was no verification of P1 membership, I just walked in.

Was there an entire 20 seconds.

It gets a score of 0.05 out of 10 from TRR.

I checked it about a week ago. I did flash my P1 card at the girl in the office but it could have been anything. She seemed surprised to see someone actually using it. I had a good chat with her about modern art and what I should see in the gallery.

The lounge is small. It is at ground level and people outside can walk past quite close to the windows. There is a bit of tinting on the windows which does give a bit of privacy from the outside.

A few interesting arts works in the lounge but if I had time to spare I would rather be walking around the MCA.

Some power points and quite a decent wifi connection, make it a good temporary office of sorts if you needed it for an hour or two in the city.

Finally here and I think I'll revise my earlier comments.

Just did the walk from SYD to Mascot, took the train to Circular Quay and have to say the MCA lounge isn't that bad. Not too cool in here, got myself a bottle of San Pellegrino to quench my thirst and they even have the March edition of "The Australian Way" already.

Only disappointment is there's a bloody big ship blocking my views of the opera house!

I'm off to Cruise Restaurant shortly for a bonus 100 points and a $29 lunch special that includes alcohol. Then Yoko Ono exhibit, then home.
