Well I was excited at the thought of using a Qantas Lounge Pass for the first time on a Bali trip shortly but that's not going to happen.
I have a Black ANZ Qantas Frequent Flyer Card which includes 2 Qantas Lounge Passes per year. This is something like $390 a year card so not exactly cheap.
I initially called ANZ and advised I wanted to use the Passes. They emailed saying it was all go. 3 Months later and no passes visible in the Qantas login system.
Ok I next phoned ANZ and Qantas 4-5 times, each call being on hold for at least 30-40 minutes and both blaming each other. Finally I had success and the passes showed up on Qantas FF site.
Next to assign the pass to my up coming trip to Bali. I couldn't assign Bali so started trying everywhere else. NOWHERE worked except Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Next I phoned Qantas - another 30 minute wait. My call went for at least 40 minutes. Guy kept saying that Qantas prioritize the access to the Qantas Club members and Platinum members. He said the passes will be available for 1.5 years yet !! He then said have you tried to use them in Hong Kong and Tokyo !!! I am not going there I am going to Bali for gods sake ! In the end it works out there is absolutely nowhere in the world I can use these passes except the 3 - 4 largest Australian City's.
I called ANZ again and she said its because they are not Qantas sites but the thing is it wouldnt let me select LAX, Singapore, Auckland, Wellington - all Qantas sites.
Anyway long story but basically these aren't worth a thing to me. I find it very misleading. Qantas customer support guy was rude and very un helpful. I asked for a supervisor but none available for 48 hours. Pretty hopeless. So if you do get one of these Credit-Cards that promise everything good luck if you manage to use the Lounge Passes internationally.

Where & When exactly are you flying from to get to DPS? (And Qantas or Jetstar?)

You won't be able to use the pass in Bali as it is not a Qantas lounge. They don't have their own lounge, they use a 3rd party and that's only for people with frequent flyer status or paid Qantas club.

I assume you are flying Jetstar - as when flying Qantas you just click the "link invitation" next to your booking. If you are flying Jetstar it only has the Jetstar cities, so LAX isn't there. Singapore is. The Qantas lounges in NZ have only just re-opened so I assume there will be a delay in getting them back on the site.

Flying Jetstar - BNE to Bali.
Later I tested it again and yes Singapore did come up but pretty much nowhere else in the world. None of the NZ, Asia, USA ,Europe so pretty limited.
Yes maybe its because they are partner lounges. In the Qantas website you click the lounge locations and they pop up everywhere so at first glance you think this is great for future travel but really it is VERY limited in my opinion and misleading.

Again, that is only searching airports that Jetstar fly to.

You will have access to LAX, London etc when flying Qantas. You don’t use that part of the website to link to Qantas flights, only Jetstar. Id expect the NZ lounges to be available shortly, they have literally just reopened.

Of course for your trip you’ll be able to access the Brisbane international lounge on departure which isn’t bad.

I don't think access is available to complimentary lounge pass holders at LAX.

QF Club passes can be used QF "operated" International J lounges. LAX Int business lounge is operated by QF - according to QF.

@terryforsyth :QFClub comp passes can be used with QF and JQ flights with a QF and JQ flight numbers. So not sure why you can't access QF Brisbane International Lounge.

In other words
JQ passengers with QC passes can use
"Qantas international business lounge"
"Qantas international lounge"
"The Qantas Club"

Note the actual names of the lounges which are reflected in the QF website

However the T&C also says that it is in the discretion of the lounge to refuse entry on capacity control reasons.

LAX J is operated by QF, but there is a specific exclusion:

If you have a P1 invite you can use it at the LAX Flounge though.

Yes understand a bit more now.
Might just use it in Brisbane I guess and it does look pretty good anyway.
Thanks for your help

Only if there are passes to use. So I can’t see the “hidden” T&C. Hidden T&C which only become apparent after acquiring the product are likely illegal. (But rare is the traveller who will be bothered to take up the fight).

In various other places it says this. And it specifically has a “not valid at” section but specifically omit LAX J.

Unless… QF have not updated their site to reflect that the change in management of LAX J to QF means that the earlier exclusion due to the OW management of TBIT J lounge

T&Cs give them a blank cheque to restrict whatever they like (as they have done for school holidays etc).

7.2 Qantas staff reserve the right to decline lounge access at any time, including but not limited to capacity or operational reasons.

LAX is a weird one because whilst operated by QF it's run as a oneworld lounge and is co-owned with BA & CX.

That is an definitely a “catch all” provision that not only QF uses from time to time but also CX with its Marco Polo. Anyone lower than P1 gets told the “lounge is full”
I can feel for the OP here.

For many on this forum, QF lounge access really isn't anything special - we've been going in and out of them for years. However, for people who travel rarely its a bit of a novelty and they genuinely look forward to it.

My wife works in a senior govt role but very rarely travels for work. She recently flew BNE-CBR for a conference and tried to use her complimentary lounge passes (from CC). The flight happened to be during school holidays so the request was denied. Fast forward to the day of travel, flight is delayed twice and she's sitting out in the terminal for hours trying to work on her laptop.

She has no firm views regarding QF but this incident left her fuming and i wonder if QF loyalty have considered this? Someone has a pass and is then told, sorry the computer says no! This isn't smart business and the brand damage is entirely self inflicted and predictable. I suspect that individuals holding complimentary passes aren't frequent flyers who understand all the nuances and restrictions that have been outlined in this thread.....

Also how many people are actually trying to use a complimentary lounge pass per day in each city? Surely there can't be that many of them, and if there are and Qantas can't handle the volume they shouldn't give out as many all the time?

On the contrary, I think there will be a significant number. Hiding lounge access to LaX J within the comp pass portal is a strike against the airline IMO

The FF program is very lucrative for the airline. They have no problems (as are other airlines) selling points and limiting award seats

I meant in the grand scheme of things, say there are 1000 pax going through ADL lounge on any given day, how many of those could possible be on one time passes, 10?
