Hi Everyone

My wife and I are travelling from SYD-ADL soon and taking our 10 month old with us.

We have a fair few complimentary lounge invites we wouldn't mind burning on this trip but wanted to get opinions on the wording of T&Cs on Qantas' website.

The lounge invites say you cannot have guests or children which is fair enough but it doesn't explicitly say anything about 'Infants'.

Booking a fare, Qantas specifically separates Adults, Children (2-11yrs) and Infants (<2yrs). So my question is do you think we would still be able to visit the lounge noting we have an infant who wouldn't be using any of the amenities in the lounge anyway?

Thanks

You will have no issues, our daughter is now a bit older however we have been taking her into lounge since she was 6 months old. OT the QF rules as published can be difficult to decipher if you are not used to them, one would think that it could be made simpler but this seems not to be the case. The QF guest passes, QF club, general QF (status), OW (carrier) and fare class rules all have similar but different access rules. In our experience QF is very infant/children friendly.

My daughter recently traveled CNS/BNE/CNS on a J QFF award ticket and took her 6 month old into the lounges with no problems.

That's different though because a J passenger can take a guest anyway.

I see the OP has confirmed with QF which is good, but it would be interesting if you were taking an 11 year old with just one guest pass.

To add to this, there is a baby change table in the lounge toilet. I was the the First Class Lounge in Sydney (God bless the closure of the business lounge) with my 7 month old baby. No problems at all.

This has been my experience too. QF have on several occasions set us up in the meeting room in the First lounge in Mel with the screen on the wall for the young one to watch YouTube vids with table service for us, obviously this is during the quieter times when rooms are unused but they couldn't be better with kids and I've never had QF lounge entry issues.

Partner lounges are a whole different story, but rules are rules and all you can do is some homework first.
