Qantas Lounge Invitation

My Mum (bless her soul) has MS so she's a bit slower moving than most, takes her a bit to get from one spot to another.
I'm thinking $69 does seem a little steep, for a small period of time.
Maybe closer to the date (they have until check in closes to decide), I'll pay for it for them.

Thanks all :) Appreciate your thoughts and feedback

This is an important point. If your mum is slow in moving the lounge location, even with escalators/lift etc is potentially quite far from the destination gate (specially if it's out gate 16-20 pier). This would reduce time available to ensure one would be at the gate in time for boarding (and she may indeed possibly require or ask for early boarding due to her disability).

It would probably be more worthwhile to grab a coffee or somehting at the central "hub" above where the lounges are for easy access to the main gates (it obviously depends on the departure gate for the flight, which may not be 9 or 11) and relax there.

At the end of the day it may come down to how one feels about it. I wonder if they could still purchase on the day or not. I mean if you had to buy it before day of travel, then ADL-MEL is delayed by an hour (unlikely, but still) and they wind up, post transit, immigration etc with 45min before boarding, then it absolutely would NOT be worth it in my book, but if the flight is early and there's over 3 hours.. then it possibly would be. Hard call

I think $69 is too much. If it was like $30, that would make more sense for 2-3 hours you'd get your value in a few coffees and some snacks alone. (I'm ignoring alcohol totally here as some do and some don't wish to consume)

I think if it were my parents I would probably steer them away from this "deal" (but then again I'd probably find some sort of excuse to be with them and get them into the F lounge :D )

Either way I hope they enjoy their trip!

Ended up buying it for them, good thing.
They got in early and their flight out is delayed by over an hour, so they at least have time to enjoy it and not be stuck in the uncomfortable airport seats.

Thanks to everyone for their input on this, I appreciate it :)
