Seem to be more Qantas bashers in the UK than you even get in the Australian press.
 
I'm sure SQ did have a crash in TPE with fatalities...maybe 15 years ago.
 
Interesting that you can have a crash with fatalities and still get into the top 10.

Maybe there aren't that many airlines that haven't crashed :shock:
 
And then we have EK incident at MEL which I suspect was far closer to disaster than either of QFs recent incidents

Again, it looks at the recency of any accidents amongst other things.

Not reading the article but assuming it is by Geoffrey Thomas, his rating system looks at accidents/crashes within the previous 10 years when determining the safety rating.

That is a joke. 10 years isn't long in aviation. 87 people died in that SQ crash and they are deemed to be safer than other airlines? I would argue some of the US carriers should be in the top 10 ahead of them, given thier recent safety record
