Qantas LAX First Lounge

I just had the squid and chippies as a late lunch after a UA flight from MRY and walking all the way from Gate 86B. :P

Can't be that hard to delete the word Autumn, replace it with Winter and hit print.

Australia is on a short list of countries that use the meteorological definition for seasons (ie, they start on the 1st)

USA and UK, like many others, use the astronomical definition, and winter starts on the winter solstice - which is December 21st this year.

Although as they're calling it Autumn and not Fall, perhaps they should have followed the Australian system.

Whoosh.

I’m more commenting as I was hoping it would be a new menu compared to when I was here on Halloween.
I don’t care when they switch over, just wanted better desserts. Might go to the cupcake shop downstairs. 😝

Summer menu.

The bass was as good as anything I had in Beverly Hills.

The only champagne available (to me, at least) is the Lallier. Bit miffed.

The coughtails and wines have also been enhanced judging from the differences from the spring menu posted in March.

No more French rose, and only Penfolds left is the tawny.

I asked for an espresso martini but got a firm no. I long for the one I got from the BA lounge in JNB, it was divine.

That wine list is beyond shocking. If that's what's in the F lounge, are they serving goon in the J lounge?

That club tawny can be had for about $13.

Though for beer lovers, there are four tap beers in the J lounge and they are decent. A craft IPA in the mix. Nothing decent in F except bottled Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.

The Centurion Lounge, as an aside, is small and smells like feet. However they do offer espresso martinis with only one catch - you have to get the shot from the machine yourself. I was willing to oblige.

Anyway, that’s all to say - pretty bad showing by QF F lounge to not make coughtails that aren’t on the limited menu while other lesser lounges happily oblige.
