re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

My rage for the day (week/month?) is that a flight I took nearly 3 weeks ago is still not credited to Aquire despite all details being in the booking. QF1559 HVB-SYD just doesn't want to slot in, can't even try enter it manually as a missing flight as the website on my end and their end throws an error... and having had no further contact with them I don't know if they're actually even doing anything about the missing 240 points or just hope I'll forget! Poor business choice there!

Anyone else taken this flight and had issues getting it to credit?

Starting to clock up some flights between partners/staff - the whole waiting, waiting for flights to posts is an administrative PITA!

Memories of long delays for J* flights to posts are flooding back....

re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

I have only read half way through this thread so please excuse me if this has already been covered. Today I received the following email from Qantas regards joining the Aquire scheme...
"If you or someone you know owns a business and has not yet joined Aquire, we have some good news – our 5,000 bonus Aquire Points offer has been extended to the 31 August 2014[SUP]1[/SUP]!"
5,000 points. I have an ABN as does wife, so is it worthwhile joining? What are 5,000 points worth?

Any pitfalls to the scheme so far apart from amount of time taken for points to post? What has been the experience thus far?

Points convert to QFF at 1:1, you may as well join.

I'm a newbie with this.

AFAIK you need to accumulate 20,000 aquire points per annum before you can transfer to a QFF account.....an elcheapo BNE-SYD fare will earn 240AP. Unless you've got a decent amount of flying scheduled in high class buckets - it appears to be a waste of time.

If you can double dip they add up quickly, like car hire.

Ahhh, that changes the complexion a bit. I probably would only manage one or two dom flights a year so unlikely to earn enough points to be able to initiate a points transfer in the first year. A Fiji jolly wouldn't be worth much either.
Pity. :(

Is there any way to do the car hire other than through the QF booking engine?
I struggle to find them competitive at times

I had enough issues getting it working earlier in the week, if they are not competitive then a price claim should be made for an easy 1K bonus.

re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

Had a terrible strike rate with Aquire. Endless chasing of colleagues bookings. Partner offers never eventuating in points (QBE biz travel insurance, regus). Buck passing between partners and qantas/aquire.

I also tried to chase missing partner points via Qantas/Aquire. Filled out an enquiry form specifically asking them to follow up via email (as I am travelling for 3 months and not checking Oz phone/messages regularly). They left a message on my Oz phone saying they didn't have access to an email system to follow up, could only do it via phone(?!?). Wtf.

Sounds like a typical QF implementation to me.

The bonus points are very likely to not be subject to the 20000 points qualification requirement. The pre-registration flight points have all come across as fully qualified acquire points that can be transferred. I assume because the offer was to provide aquire points, as in full aquire points. The same might apply with the bonus.

This is a major hassle as my flight points will struggle to make 20000, but might get there with those bonus points, which don't count in the 20000 limit.

Looks like medhead is on the money.

When I signed up they were running a 2,500 point bonus. Took another look at my account and they appear to be sitting there waiting transfer......trouble is you need at least 3,000 points to transfer. If your bonus is 5,000 - you wouldn't need to do anything else but wait for them to post and then transfer over to your QFF account.

OK so the consensus is it may be possible to transfer the bonus points. Would the 2 employee flight condition still need to be met first? Where I am coming from is this; wife and I both have ABN's so can each apply for membership. If 2 employee flight condition needs to be met for points transfer then I have shot myself in the foot as we will only be one employee each on next flight. Is it better to be just one business so that one of us can be an employee of the other?

No. The 2 employee flight option is to qualify the pending points. I'm a bit frustrated that one of my employees has earned pre-registration points but that hasn't triggered a second employee.

re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

I am still cautious of ability to transfer points or to earn points if you are a sole trader.
From the Airline Reward Scheme T&Cs;
6.3 No Aquire Points earned under the Airline Reward Scheme will be convertible to Qantas Points by a Member until at least:

  1. Two of the Member's Aquire Flyers have each travelled on one or more Eligible Flights; and
  2. 20,000 Pending Airline Aquire Points have accumulated in the Membership Account in each case within the applicable Membership Year (refer to clause 7)

My understanding of the T&Cs is that Qantas do not recognise a Sole Trader who only has the one employee, himself, as clearly stated in 6.3 a. they expect 2 flyers to have travelled on an eligible flight.
6.3 b. is also clear that a minimum accumulation of 20,000 points is required before a transfer can occur.

From the Aquire Loyalty Program T&Cs;
"12.3 A Member must request in each conversion transaction the conversion of a minimum 3000 (three thousand) Aquire Points or such other minimum amount as Aquire Loyalty may stipulate from time to time."

Before you are allowed to transfer a minimum 3,000 points you must first have satisfied the scheme that 2 of your businesses members flown on eligible flights AND you have a minimum 20,000 points accumulated.

I think in my position with one member and minimal travel this will not be workable.

re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

Our Aquire team have offered answers to some common queries raised on this thread, particularly regarding the pre-registration offer:

Pre-registration bonus points have been awarded as Aquire Points, not pending points. Aquire Points are available for immediate conversion to Qantas Points should the Member wish to do so.

Does anyone know whether that means we have earned 10,200 towards the 20,000 that we need before we can start using the points? Or do we still have to earn another 18,800 before we can start using the points? I can't find any explanation on the Aquire website.

In the above example, the 9000 Aquire Points awarded in the pre-registration bonus campaign are available for immediate conversion to Qantas Points should the member decide to do so. The 1200 pending points remain as pending until the member has reached 20,000 from eligible flights (on or after 31 March 2014) and reached two unique flyers in the membership year.

Any Seat Awards are eligible for the pre-registration bonus. These points will be credited to members’ Aquire accounts in the next 2-3 weeks. However in the Aquire program, for flights on/after 31 March 2014, Any Seat Awards in the same booking classes as Qantas and Partner Classic Awards, that is X, Z, U and P classes, are not eligible to earn Aquire Points.

Qantas Frequent Flyer numbers are not required for the pre-registration bonus flights, only the ABN. However, for the Aquire program for flights on or after 31 March 2014, it is necessary to add both the ABN and QFF number.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if you require additional clarification.

Still trudging through the earlier posts where on page 27 there is a response from Red Roo regarding use of "pre-registration points" as above. He indicates the sign on bonus is available for transfer if these are the same as "pre-registration points".
Thanks Medhead and Ansett and Red Roo.

Seems then it would be silly of me to not avail myself and Mrs prozac of the 5,000 points each even if it appears we will not be able to accumulate and transfer points after this. :)

re: Qantas launches "Aquire" business frequent flyer program.

Indeed, I'm going to take it up, nothing to lose except 5000 points I wasn't going to get before!

Jumped in and signed both of us up today. Be warned you cannot be a manager of another's accounts if using any email that has already been registered in the program. i.e. you will need to use an email that neither you or the other entity has registered.
