Qantas jumbo that ran off Bangkok runway in new incident | The Daily Telegraph

THE Qantas plane that famously ran off the end of a runway in Bangkok and ended up on a golf course was involved in another incident after the aircraft had a defect in its cargo-hold door.
Passengers onboard the Qantas 747-400 jumbo flight 30 from London to Melbourne via Hong Kong on Thursday were left stranded at Heathrow airport after the aircraft had a defect in the cargo-hold door leaving passengers waiting more than five hours before they were forced to changes planes.

Meh - more NoNews Ltd beatup. I see they've managed to work out where reportable incidents are kept on the interweb now!

I always laugh when I hop on-board that plane though (several times in the last few years). I caught it to Bangkok with a couple of friends a few years ago (roughly on the same day as the original incident) and joked about a repeat. I've also been tempted to joke with the cabin crew about being onboard the "golf buggy", but not sure they'd get the reference :D

Surely an "incident" is when the cargo door falls off in flight ? Not when the door wont shut on the ground ! That's just an annoyingly inconvenient delay.

Richard.

Nonews have a very loose definition of "incident" when it comes to QF.
