Qantas improves earning on American

That earning table is the most confusing and convoluted piece of cough I have ever seen.
The point-to-point calculator is by far the easiest, but still shows you class options for classes that don't exist.
Now you realise this is the QF website.Expecting it to be easy to use is an unrealistic expectation.;)

Exactly. The matrix of popular cities to west coast/east coast rather than just an actual mile chart makes so confuse.

The calculator is still not showing earning on any of my AA flights.

LAC-SEA, SEA-DFW, DFW-MSY, MSY-PHL, PHL-DUB all show all classes as "not available for the selected route"

Get the mileage and use the tables?

Well, yes, I could do that (and I did). But they've provided a calculator and it should be working.

I emailed them with a complaint. Their response was "tell us the routing and we'll calculate it for you". I've done this (by email - don't want to clog the already clogged phone lines) but no response so far.

Don't think it occurs to them that they should fix the calculator.

What's the benefit of being on a QF codeshare?

Is it just the status bonus for points earn?

SC earn is the same on QF and AA within the US now, isn't it?

In general it's higher points/status credit earn and potentially lounge access advantages. But the benefits when flying AA on an AA code are already good, so I'm not sure what the additional benefit is in this case.

QF coded flights count towards the eligible flight segments for status, whereas partner flights don't, that's another area that may affect some.

20.1.5 The travel required in each Membership Year to attain or retain Silver, Gold, Platinum and Platinum One tier must include a minimum of four Eligible Flight Segments where Qantas, QantasLink or a Jetstar Airline is the Marketing Carrier.

Appears the calculator is still broken.... getting multiple AA flights that indicate “(insert fare class here) not available for the selected route.

Ive had a look but can’t locate the earnings table ...is somebody able to post a link?

Cheers.

opps, just found it!

My last AA flight (PHL-ATL) has posted as 1350 points, 40 SC (D class, 666 miles). vs 1375 points, 60 SC for BA LIS-LHR (D, 972 miles).

I'm surprised that both my QR flights have posted as well, given what normally happens with QR flights posting to QFF.

More surprised that my JL op, QF code flight from the 4th hasn't posted yet. Should have posted by yesterday at the latest (though really it should have posted on the 5th under the normal JL posting timetable weekly batch post on Tues).

I was meant to start this trip with JL7882 (QF37)-JL38. Cancellation of QF37 lead to rebooking onto QF460-QF25.
Calcs say I got more points/SC with the rebooked routing then the planned routing, so not going to ask for ORC.

Just note the USA has multiple sections
Intra USA short
NY/Boston to Dallas
East to West Coast (see the definitions)
Then the general distance table.

Simpler it isn't.

If I am using the calculator I just switch to the QF option if AA flights come up with the no AA flights message. The earnings are the same as far as points and SCs are concerned.

QF appear to have finally corrected the calculator - at least as far as my flights are concerned.

YMMV
