Qantas HY26 results

Additional notes from the text in adjacent page

- delivery of 9x new aircraft in 1H26: 2x A321LRs, 1x A320neo, 4x A220-300s and 2x A321XLRs

- 2 of the 13 ex-3K aircraft are being held for sales (assume this is VH-X3P and X3R which remain stored at ASP.. and were originally Tiger Air aircraft)

- First Sunrise remains at end of calendar year 2026

- Group will purchase an additional A330-300 aircraft in FY26 to support existing A330 operations (this seems separate to the dry leased QPK and QPL, wonder if it's coming from AY)

Sunrise now being talked about as mid-2027.
Appears most/all of the 12 aircraft will arrive by June 2029.

Interesting I thought they would have been leased. Unless they are leased and lessor looking for new client.

While demand for flights from the US to Australia has increased, this has not offset reduced demand in Economy for flights from Australia to the US
The exodus!

In response, Qantas is adjusting some US schedules, replacing the A380 with a 787 on Melbourne-Los Angeles and redeploying the A380 to Sydney-Singapore.

The bit about Loyalty increases beggars belief - we really are suckers for Qantas points!

What's most interesting about the results is that they contain a massive downward revision to the 1H25 Loyalty results.

The 1H25 revenue was revised down from $1.3B to $1.1B.

In 2025, this is what the Loyalty division reported for 1H25:

Now look at today's report containing the same 1H25 figures:

Seems even stranger to launch a LAS flight then considering that will all be outbound traffic.
