Hi team,

This may or may not be the right place to ask but wondering if anyone has any intel on sorting issues with QF health insurance

I have basic extras largely for the purposes of getting points for steps etc

Previously all of my claims have been painless, but I’ve had a couple of non-PBS medicines recently and suddenly realised that I have cover for that

Oh. My. God.

The hoops they want you to jump through to get back (checks notes) $27.59 for one of them

Unfortunately, the receipt you've provided is missing some important detail/s. To help, we ask you to request a new receipt with the below detail/s:

Problem is I’ve never had a pharmac_ write the half of that on the receipt.

I responded sending them a copy of the script, a copy of the label on the box, and the page of the PBS showing that the medicine in question is not PBS listed for any indication

No dice

Obviously I’m somewhat willing to write this off to experience but, I have the willingness to push a little bit harder on principle if anyone has any intel

In order to claim non-pbs medicines you need a proper pharmac_ receipt, not the receipt you get at checkout. Also, the non-pbs has to be above the PBS price which I think is $35.60.

No lower price limit for Qantas insurance.

Tell the pharmac_ you need a receipt for insurance purposes and they'll print you one.

You can also claim for things like flu jabs, again make sure you get a proper pharmac_ receipt.

Just ask at the time you hand over the prescription.

At our local Chemist Warehouse it appears to be as simple as the pharmacist ticking a box when they issue the medication and the pharmac_ receipt is system generated with relevant details.

On the odd occasion I’ve forgotten, they’ve been happy to generate the receipt on my next visit.

Unsure if there’s a limit to how far back you can go.
