Qantas Green frequent flyer tier

Think they may have pulled the pin early on this as @XavierP post #2466 upthread was trying on Wed 31/12 @RSD
😕
As i mentioned earlier this is often the case. It usually works by accident, though gift cards, donations etc are excluded in the T&Cs. After a little while they realise and then it stops working

Yea, I realise this now. Will jump on things like this next time 💪

Mrfefe completed 3pickups on 19.11.26.And “activity unlocked” in ReSmart immediately. Green leaf posted on 27.12.26. ( 5 weeks). “Congratulations you have completed 5/5 activities”. No sign of “ choose your reward” yet.
Likewise, recyclesmart green leaf took 5.5 weeks to post on Qantas and QF website noted 5/5 activities.

Choose your reward never triggered and after a month I followed up, they had to "manually activate" it.

My Resmart green leaf arrived about 5 weeks after the 3rd pickup.

So now I have 4/5 green leaves - only Travelling and Shopping outstanding. We don't drink wine, so we'll need to pick an eco-hotel.... plenty of time left to do this.

$551 for 2 nights. STAY LONGER AND SAVE - BED AND BREAKFAST. Free cancellation up to 1 day before arrival.

Google reviews says this place is meh but I'd stay here again.

Wi-Fi speed is acceptable at 39Mbps down / 19Mbps up. Certainly enough to get stuff done on a work trip.

The rooms are dated, especially the dark pink day couch and the best 1980s timber laminate furnishings money could buy.

My 8th floor room is well laid out with queen size bed, long desk under the wall mounted TV to work on the laptop. Plenty of easily accessible power points all around the room. I was a bit concerned about promixity to the lifts but didn't heear any noise overnight.

Single window with blackout curtain that actually works. No street noise overnight and the room was actually incredibly dark and quiet.

Wall unit with wardrobe, luggage bench for suitcase, bar fridge, couple of glass shelves for wine and water glasses, tea/coffee, electric kettle, cups. Couple of drawers underneath the luggage bench. 2 shelves above to stash stuff out of the way.

As always Chromecast sucks and just does not work. Plenty of FOXTEL channels and free-to-air. No accessible HDMI ports on the Samsung TV.

Air-conditioning is very quiet on lowest fan setting. Bathroom has been refurbished at some point. Sink is flush mounted in the benchtop. Plenty of space to put all your toiletries including a couple of small shelves. Large mirror is well lit. Standard shower head, good water pressure, hot water is excellent.

Mercure breakfast is a step above Ibis. Omlette station, decent looking pancakes, the usual buffet fare.

All in all would stay again. Location is very good with short walk to shops and the main business area.

The Samsung TV in room 510 had a HDMI3 input on the right hand side. Plugging a laptop into the port switched to that input straight away.

Last recycling pickup was this morning and the 'activity completed' has posted in the app. Now to wait for the final leaf to appear.

Anyone got the leaf via red energy green and can share their experience? I am on red energy for electricity, and I was wondering if I can switch plan to the green one and get that leaf. Is that a phone call, how quickly does it happen etc.... Thanks!

I did it recently. I switched to Red Energy to take advantage of the 110 SC promo, and then rang up to change to green power for Green Tier.

I don't remember tracking how long the leaf took, but it was pretty quick - perhaps a few days, and definitely less than a month.

I've been a Red Energy customer for a while, and added GreenPower after my QF year ticked over, as it was better for me than the Hotel option for my last leaf.

It can only be done over the phone - they just need to add the 'GreenPower" option to your current plan and explain the difference in rate (3c/kWh).

I called them on 17th October, my next bill was issued (coincidentally) on 22 October and GreenPower was on there for the full bill cycle.

The points come through on their normal schedule, and it was maybe a week or so after that for the leaf to appear.

They are pretty good on the phone @ChrisMars , quick and easy, based in Richmond/Cremorne Vic.

From my very poor sense of recall, think once you have gone through one month and paid that bill by the due date, leaf should appear.
Points don't come through till after due date regardless of whether you pay early or on time.

I had issues with my subsequent year (not 1st year) but after a phone call to Red Energy and an email to frequent flyer sorted it out.

I paid 12th and 16th December
