Qantas Green frequent flyer tier

Another Green tier hotel review coming up next week, this time the ibis Styles Brisbane Elizabeth Street. Good timing to snag 7x QFF points and 10 SCs.

That is more than a Hilton queen size with all upgrades overseas (I just booked one today for $251 with cancellation until 09 Dec). This is my gripe with it all here at home. So expensive..

Also went with RecycleSmart for this very reason.. $19x3 + $19x2 (pickup cost) = $95 for a green tick and I get rid of half the junk here :D

I mean, if you had the actual reason to stay in a hotel in Bne then it would make sense :)

The Green Hotels aren't necessarily going to be "great" value, however....
  • For those who can't get the GT leaf for shopping, it at least provides a viable alternative to attaining GT
  • The higher cost may be somewhat offset courtesy of bonus points offers (e.g. the current 7x QFF points + 10SC for Status on the Ground)
  • For those with Accor / Explorer, whilst you don't necessarily get to enjoy the usual status perks of booking direct with Accor, the stay does count toward status nights (meaning people can kill two birds with one stone)
All that being said, I think there are occasionally some some decent deals presented with the Green Hotels.

Our Accor stays have never counted as status nights when booked through Qantas Hotels @DejaBrew
Yes - that's as I would expect. These stays aren't eligible for ALL status nights or points, unless you can talk someone into adding your ALL membership at check-in AND you spend some additional dollars at the hotel during your stay (drinks, meals, etc). This separate in-house spend can often be the trigger for status nights generating on non-eligible stays (like StayPlus or rewards nights). This said, they may not actually allow you to add membership at the property for 3rd party bookings at all hotels. YMMV by property and front desk staff.

Qantas need to add a lot more green hotels, including internationally (or at least in NZ). Its odd that not all properties for particular brands are available as green hotels, even though the other locations boast the same green features as ones that are listed.

100% agreed. Especially international travel. Pretty happy with the 7pts/$1 at the moment; a green tick would have been great to go with it.

Interesting.... you're sure they had your Accor Member number on file with the booking? (guessing you likely needed to add that via the front desk)
Yes, was on file @DejaBrew and acknowledged by front desk with our QH booking. Pullman Melbourne on The Park gave drinks, upgrade to a higher floor and late check-out but no night added to Accor.
With Nusa Dua QF hotel booking, zip on all accounts.

Did all that ie spend, have # Accor etc with Melbourne, Nusa Dua and Koh Samui.
Chose QH in those instances because it triggered spend for TI, bonus points x9 and cheaper.
Swings and Roundabouts. @dairyfloss
Did make Platinum though ✔️

Don’t recall it being mentioned but GT has dropped off my virtual FF card in the app.

Now only showing LTG and PC at the bottom. It used to have the green GT bar…
