Requested an offset a week ago and points not deducted let alone green tick awarded. Unsure whether to request another as my last future booked flights for the membership year are soon to be flown and I'm unsure if I'll have another in time!

Charity and Home/Car offset green ticks landed after 24 hours of purchase.

Have retained Green for another 12 months and will use the 50 status credits to kick off the new year to retain platinum.

My second attempt seems to have worked, after my first on never submitted / was paid for (per your example in the article @AFF Editor ). Frustrating.

I do hope this option to get 50sc per year will not be enhanced.

So it looks like the options have changed - no more offsetting your holiday home in Tas without a car:



Recycle smart will cost you at least $45 of real money ( a 3 month subscription). and you need allow at least 6 weeks from the 3rd pick-up for leaf to arrive.

So no immediate options in this category anymore.

Means I'll stick with my earlier decision not to bother this year, as only 5 weeks to go. Will reassess next FF year.

Quite possibly I had noted that cost had increased a lot, but if I recall offsetting tick was awarded immediately; whereas booking 3 separate pick-ups and then waiting up to 6 weeks for leaf to be awarded means one would likely need to do this ~4 months before the end of one FF year.

Yeah, that aspect is unfortunate. Just need to change how we play the game I guess.

It appears that they're adjusting the tier somewhat.

The word "offset" doesn't appear...


And the Choose Sustainable section has been rejigged. (No more dollar offset of a digital delivery )

Both of these options take you to the same page, so I wonder if they've jumped the gun before everything was tidied up.
Surely Qantas wouldn't release something half-baked?

As someone who does not drink, the removal of climate positive delivery makes it basically infeasible, as the hotel tock was almost always unattainable.

I did see that climate positive delivery is still for sale on Qantas marketplace so I grabbed one alongside a digital gift card, and hope that Qantas will honour the tick given they have taken my dollar.

Expecting that I'll be able to claim my last tick from a charity donation at some point in the near future.

Poor form to change this without communication - especially given many people will be partway through earning the ticks before the goal posts shifted on them

Oh this is not great! I needed to offset to get my 5th leaf before 31 July!

None of the lifestyle options are viable (Renting in an apartment on an embedded electricity network, and this new 3 month Recycle thing seems unworkable)

Only other option is a sustainable stay - not what I was really looking for

You just gave me a moment of mild panic until I realised I was leaving my donation leaf till last. Will need to get some sustainable sips though now that the sustainable delivery is gone. Thankfully my holiday hovel had already been offset prior to this enhancement.

post, you can still sustainably deliver non-Green wine for a leaf?

Fortunately, my forward bookings already have WP secure by the end of Aug and next years already locked in by Jan 26. So for the first time, I’ll be taking the points on 01Aug (do they count towards PC?).

I might pass on GT for a year. I’ll probably still offset a short SYD-MEL hop AFAO just in case but will monitor this thread if I think I’ll need a 50 SC head start for the 2026/27 membership year.
