Qantas Green frequent flyer tier

I had had one tick for ages from an offset flight booked. I then came across this thread and decided to work my way through another 4 leaves.
About 24 hours from 'earning' the final tick I logged in to Qantas and they were just there. It took Qantas another week or so to send the congratulatory email and my 10,000 points were in the bag.
Great - thanks. Hopefully I'm lucky this time tomorrow.

combined the ‘delivery’ and house offset and the ability to select cash was greyed out.
I had the same problem but I fiddled with it several times and somehow managed to pay cash of $15 + $1. I don't remember what I did to achieve it but it is possible.

How long did it take for the quiz leaf to come through for people?

I cancelled and went back in the quiz after getting one wrong and then completing it again. Did anyone do this and still get the leaf?

About 48 hrs.

You don’t need to get them all correct. In fact you can get a perfect “Fail“ and still get the leaf (it’s been reported).

Thanks for the info.

Hopefully the flight carbon offset it sorted soon.

Is the experience that the carbon offset (flight) paid via points will not get a leaf?
My reading of previous post is that it can be hit and miss. As is adding the offset after a booking.

The recommendation seems to be pay at least $1 at the time of booking.

I‘ve noticed that some of the triangle route one-way fares offer an offset of $0.98. So I suspect that the award equivalents charge pts that are the equivalent of $0.98 and perhaps that’s why some pts offsets fail to sprout a leaf?

I did read through many comments but do you remember if anyone has had luck contacting Qantas after they *haven't* received the leaf, and had luck getting it "assigned". In my book, if you've met that requirement and hadn't gotten it and yet paid with points/cash, you'd have a case to be taken up with the some government body.

No, but I was pondering that myself as given that there’s no min spend in $ or pts (unless that’s buried in some Ts&Cs somewhere), there is cause to claim the leaf.

@logicallysynced comment #641 is where I picked up on the $1+ to get it automatically. I don’t know if anyone has retrospectively claimed it nor how long that would take.

Yeah, the slider for pts/pay mix works fine on my PC and now on my iPad in landscape mode. A little fiddly in portrait mode - which was probably the issue I had. Still strange that the "Give back" is only points equivalent of $25.

I scrolled through the QFF Ts&Cs and couldn't find anything suggesting there's a min spend on the Flight offset. So it would be reasonable to request a leaf if it didn't come through automatically (IMHO).

As an aside, the only similar reference was for QF wine and explicitly stating that there was "No minimum spend".
Should be about $17-25 for 6800 points net, depending on the flight offset.

The most efficient option is $15 (TAS home offset) + $1 (short domestic flight carbon offset) + $1 (climate positive delivery) + 3200 points give back
I hadn't realised (because the slider wasn't working for me), but those cash payment earn 10 pts / $. So the best net for points is about 6972 for min spend of $17/3200 pts. Plus or minus pts earned for doing the quiz??? I think it might have been 10 or possibly even 50 if still in the trial phase.

Anyone who has gone the points, which points club area do they award to? (Mainly wanting to check it's not flying)

I thought I saw here or maybe the PC thread that they don’t count at all? But I could have dreamt that…😳

Based on my experience it doesn't count towards points club. I recently got the five leaves and selected the points thinking it will go towards points club (am working towards points club plus) but it didn't unfortunately 😏

What “Category” do they appear under in your QFF earn history?

Also, have you already maxed out your 20k quota for flying points towards PC?

Ok the 10k points came in under the "others" category. In terms of your second question I have about 19.7k points in the "flights category"

and presumably none of that 19.7k was from Green Tier as per your earlier comment. Personally, I’d only do it for the SCs (which I am).

Yeah, same, though I'm in a strange situation wondering whether to make a play for PC+ with 9 days left - as that means 100 SCs instead of 50.

I thought the SCs that are gifted for attainment were the same, at 50, but you do get the added advantage of being able to roll over up to 100 SCs annually with PCP.

EDIT: Oops - just realised I’m mixing my thoughts on Green Tier and PC/PCP! No SCs for attaining PC/PCP, but you can earn on Award flights, and for PCP, carry over up to 100 SCs. Green Tier has 50 SCs as one of the choices at attaining.

Cheers,
Matt.
