Qantas Green frequent flyer tier

Just got the 5/5 congratulations in the app.

When I press select reward button it just takes me to the about Green Tier page with nothing to actually do on the page, no options, no mention of selecting reward or a list of anything - just seems broken.

Doesn't seem to be any other page I can find in my QFF account to get back to the Select Bonus Reward page either. Good one Qantas.
Give it a day or two and hopefully the option will show up. Patience…

Did my green status was pretty simple, got the cheapest wine with CN shipping $45 bucks, ozHarvest (3200pts), offset an upcoming flight $1.90, and offset home C02 (just the cheapest option) pretty easy 50 status credits just took about 20minutes to be fully updated once you selected points, status credits, or CO2 offset

Especially after kinda annoyed at myself for forgetting the 15SC by not uploading my Vax cert

For next year - you can add carbon neutral delivery to the OzHarvest donation and/or Home Offset. No need to buy a tangible item.
How do you select the carbon neutral delivery? Does it only show up on desktop?

Yep, the offest is a lottery. Have now offest for a third time. First two flights been and gone, no leaf. Nothing in feedback from Qantas.
Third offset flight booked weeks ago, nothing. will fly next week.
I've got more chance to win powerball.

I just booked four domestic flights and purposely selected different options to see what happens:

* Booked flight with cash and offset during booking with cash

* Booked flight with cash and offset during booking with points

* Booked flight with classic reward and offset during booking with cash

* Booked flight with classic reward and offset after booking with points

In all cases no leaf was instantly applied. In the first 3 cases, I received an email confirmed the carbon offset had been successfully applied. I didn’t receive this for the 4th case however.

The T&C’s state the leaf will be applied after 7 days from booking so will see later in the week if this happens.

As an additional data point, when I booked a flight with cash and offset during booking with points last year, the leaf was applied as soon as the booking was confirmed.

I've done:

Booked flight and offset with cash during booking - 1st attempt and most recent attempt
Offset post booking process with points.

I'm still in the first year...

Another patheticly controlled QF product that needs phoning up to get a result.

Fly with us, fly with us around the globe, but tick a box, pay $5 bux and we're a green climate active company, haha my goodness. PR spin.

Apologies if this has been discussed previously, but I qualified for green tier last year (membership year ends 30 June). My QFF Green Tier page currently says 'Green Tier achieved, enjoy your benefits until 30 June 2023'. But then above this, it says 'Start engaging in sustainable activities today to achieve Green tier this Membership Year'. So my question is, have I achieved green tier this year or can I go through the motions to secure another 50 SC?
My exact question too. It’s confusing because it seems to invite you to requalify for the second year but there seems to be no way to do so. Also no idea if there are any SC’s associated with requalifying. If not, I wouldn’t bother (clearly this is not a genuine ‘green’ activity but a marketing bribe to subscribe).

It’s saying earn your leaves this year so you will qualify for your next anniversary year. Same as SCs. Harder to do as the quiz is no longer available. Really only if, towards the end of your year, you are desperate for 50 SC. I agree it’s a marketing gimmick.

Hi, thank you and yes we agree. The trouble is, now I can’t even find a link to the things you have to do. I seem to have clicked everywhere and the things to tick off have vanished.

You can definitely earn new leafs when your membership ticks over on subsequent years.

The challenge is that the Qantas app/website doesn’t often reflect this as the “Congrats you’ve earned green tier for the year” takes preference over the progress indicator.

Once you get at least one leaf for the new membership year, the progress bar should reappear.

You need to just start doing the activities again, without the easy to find prompts for each one:

* Carbon offset during booking

* Search the rewards store for the eco-positive delivery, giveback offers and offset home/car - they’re all there in the store

* Book an eco stay on Qantas Hotels by searching for them.

* etc.

The one you will have a bigger challenge with is the quiz. Qantas Well-being have indicated to multiple people (including myself) who enquire there is a bug with their system which prevents the quiz from showing up on subsequent years.

They are apparently working on a fix, but if you reach 4/5 leafs in the meantime you can message them in the well-being app and they will apply the leaf.

Thanks heaps. That’s really helpful. i guess i was expecting to be spoon fed.

I have not done this myself, but are you saying what I think you're saying?

The FAQs state the following:-

If I have a sustainable stay booked but I cancel my booking last minute, will I still receive recognition towards my Green tier status? Your sustainable stay at an eco-accredited hotel will count towards your Green tier status three to four days after you have checked out. Therefore, if you cancel your stay it will not be recognised towards Green tier status.

If you are asking if you can book and cancel but still get a green leaf I would think it is unlikely based on the above. Whether you will still get a green leaf if you book, pay but don't cancel, and just don't turn up really I suppose depends on whether the hotel/booking agent reports back to Qantas or not.
